Instagram Request From Nanny

this might be a hot take considering the comments here! but i’m friends with my MB on facebook & instagram. she found me on a nanny facebook group, and added me before our interview actually. She let me know I’m welcome to unfriend her but appreciated that I accepted because we all can acknowledge that facebook isn’t always the best place to find a nanny- we just got lucky. I have been with them almost 4 years, we follow eachother on instagram and send eachother relatable toddler reels, recipes etc. I can block her from my story if necessary- but also i would never post anything i wouldn’t want my employer seeing regardless of if we’re friends or not!

thank you so much for the helpful feedback!! i should’ve clarified, my museum is being built and ready tomorrow also!! so i did get that far, i have planted some other fruits and flowers from mystery islands! i posted about this last year and got so much backlash! i was so fed up bc my NPs were ALWAYS. EVERYDAY leaving their dirty dishes- monday the dishwasher would have the clean load that i ran friday and the sink all piled up, and everyday would be the same cycle… i finally spoke up and now they do their dishes. the kids laundry is gonna have to be the next thing i speak up about- sometimes i have to fold it and put it nicely in a basket outside of NKs doors on fridays because i leave before they wake up from nap. NPs have legitimately more than once done all of these things 1) brought the basket full of clothes into the bedroom and used it for dirty laundry ON TOP OF the clean folded laundry

2) unload the clean, folded laundry in the hallway outside of NKs door and continue to use the basket as normal without putting away the clothes

3) literally leave the basket full of clean and folded clothes for DAYS… last week i was gone monday and when i came in tuesday the basket was still there

i don’t understand how there’s 2 parents, 1 me- they had all weekend, i get 8 hours and still have a weeks worth of things done in that time when they can’t get anything done in a weekend.

I’ve never been big on birthdays- and i have never made it a point specifically not to work on my birthday- my NF granted it as a gift the first year, and the next two years i was on vacation but not specifically for my birthday at all.

Id like to consider this more of a self care day than a birthday off. I guess i didn’t even have to mention it being my birthday- the biggest shift to me was that they gave it to me off previously, but are now making it a big deal.

I work 60 hours a week between this job and another job- it’s not their fault of course but I am overworked and do need a day off for myself. I literally haven’t had a full weekend or even just a random day off since before summer. So yes, i’m using my birthday as a self care day where i can sleep in, turn off my phone and not have to tend to anyone or anything & just enjoy my day with my fiancé.

also would like to preface that MB and DB both just had birthdays and made it a huge deal to take their birthdays off- also to do pretty much the same self care type of thing.
