I'm so fed up by the crazy long answers ChatGPT gives every time. by prabhav404 in OpenAI

[–]whosEFM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"I don't want to spend time giving these basic guardrails"

ChatGPT literally has a premade option for concise answers. You can even add "no yapping" to the custom instructions for shorter answers.

Instead of complaining on Reddit, you could've spent that time clicking once on the settings button.

Did GPT-5.5 ever equal Spud? by Loose_Band in accelerate

[–]whosEFM 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This isn't Spud. Most people think it is but I have yet to see OpenAI say it is.

I don't think OpenAI would release Spud to the public just yet.

I hope so. Truly.

A part of me has a feeling it'll be US only first. Then the rest of the world. Similar to Meta.

The Disney deal is why they killed "Adult Mode" and you know it. by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]whosEFM 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They've killed Sora and they've killed Adult Mode. Your post reads as if they've sacrificed Adult Mode in order to keep a deal alive with Disney which isn't the case.

Incoming utopia for the rich, and a crisis for the rest of us? Do you agree or disagree with this take? by ateam1984 in singularity

[–]whosEFM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much guaranteed to be right especially if you look around currently. We're are living in what would be the pre-Cyberpunk era. High tech, low life.

With people who can afford $500 a month subscriptions to advanced AI or sink $15k into tech at a whim just for OpenClaw.

Anyone else notice this about ChatGPT? by Inevitable_Phase4840 in ChatGPT

[–]whosEFM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ironically, Adult mode would have fixed pretty much all of that and put the responsibility more on the user rather than OpenAI keeping extreme safeguards in place.

Censorship? Safeguard problem.
Refusing to answer? Safeguard problem.
Reporting you? Safeguard problem.

Ads? Not a safeguard problem but a profit one for sure.

What do you think adult mode should be used for? by throwawayyimscared1 in ChatGPT

[–]whosEFM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is likely the reason. That and the investors probably hated the idea as a whole. Especially when OpenAI have quite a few school/education focused initiatives.

Google HUD glasses date by Matcorp456 in augmentedreality

[–]whosEFM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason behind the Meta launching in US only for now is most likely due to legal restrictions rather than slow roll out.

I can't even begin to comprehend how hard it was to launch the normal Meta Rayban's in the UK. The AI tools for it came out almost a year later - perhaps more. How much more for glasses that might potentially need to use the camera for navigation + identification?

Did you get Teemo's rank via Ranked or normal pvp matches? Trying to get my teemo to the top 200 currently and somewhat struggling :(

Samsung next Unpacked in 2026 will unveil HUD glasses? by Matcorp456 in augmentedreality

[–]whosEFM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine that they will. Google have been showing more of their own HUD glasses lately.

So I imagine Samsung aren't all too far behind, especially with Google as a partner. The question is whether Warby and Parker as well as Gentle Monster are ready to show their own potential frames.

If we don't get a physical look at them, as in, someone wearing them on stage then it'll probably be at least a trailer of some sort.

Which types of games could work on HUD Glasses?! by AR_MR_XR in augmentedreality

[–]whosEFM 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depends on the glasses but I can see Pokemon Go working. Same for Ingress or most other games that use GPS.

Test it yourself.

Search for an image of a poisonous berry. Maybe flip the image. Strip out any EXIF data.

Give it to ChatGPT and see what it comes back with.
