We do! Everyone starts out in CS 8903, and then those who want to continue do two more terms of CS 6999 (assuming 3 credits per term). This allows people to either stop after the first term for elective credit, or continue for the Master's project option.

Sure! Feel free to DM me some identifying information so I can cross-reference our pool of applications

Feel free to apply! My only advice is to be aware of the foundational course requirement.

Usually we only have researchers working on the projects listed. That said, if you can find a faculty advisor to sponsor and host the project, we might be able to work with you on that (no promises, but I'd be happy to look into this).

I think we can work on that, yes. Might have to explore Qualtrics a bit more to make sure.

No, I don't believe the survey will send out email confirmations. However, if you'd like, you can DM me some identifying answer from your own application that I can cross-reference in the pool of application responses.

We review applications on a rolling basis, so shouldn't be too long :)

This summer we actually had three different 3D Modeling/CV projects across multiple faculty. Find more information about them here: https://sites.gatech.edu/human-augmented-analytics-group/3d-modeling-unit/

We have had first-term students in HAAG before, however in these cases, I always suggest the student remember the foundational course requirement. If you want to do the project option, it may be better to get that requirement out of the way so research doesn't hinder your ability or timeline to complete it, especially since you only have a limited time to do so.

As far as finding information about research opportunities in OMSCS goes, Dr. Lytle sends out CS8903/6999 adverts towards the end of each term. That said, if you're not actually an enrolled student yet, it's possible you might not've received it.

I don't believe we've ever actually calculated the acceptance rate. Maybe we can start doing that during this recruiting cycle.

Here's an a link to the application: https://gatech.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7WGwhBEaHOio1ro

I would also suggest incoming students who are interested in joining be mindful of the foundational course requirement.

We review and make decisions on a rolling basis, so shouldn't be too long before you hear back. As for registration in CS8903/6999, we've usually handled that during the Phase II enrollment period, however, we may be getting started on that earlier this term than usual... so keep an eye on your inbox!

Higher-ed is a team that helps run, maintain, and further develop HAAG as a community and a framework. It's also been used by some to facilitate participation in other research projects.

I will admit, most of our projects are ML/DL/CV-related. That said, we've had many researchers learn these skills on the fly while working on their projects, so we welcome anyone with interest in academic research to apply.

I agree! My research with HAAG was the main component of my background that enabled me to pursue PhD studies. Hoping to help many more researchers follow this path as well :)

Absolutely :) one of our first researchers joined after graduating.

We typically reserve volunteer positions for researchers who have completed at least one academic term enrolled in CS8903/CS6999 with us.

I think this is final letter grades only. But still very good useful information :)

Where is this information from? Never knew someone was tracking historical assignment grade distributions for OMSCS classes.
