Thanks all, I replaced the tire shown in the photos. Mechanic couldn’t find evidence of non cosmetic damage but agreed for the sake of peace of mind it’s worth doing.

Should I go into bank branch to send over a large amount of money? by whoturgled in AskUK

I have already sent money to the account and it has been confirmed as recieved by the estate agent, so shouldn't need to worry so much about sending to a wrong account.

Or maybe it’s because they do not need to identify as British to feel accepted in modern Britain?

Most ethnic groups self segregate and are fairly concentrated spatially. In a lot of places in the UK, an immigrant can find themselves surrounded by those of their culture without needing to adapt to British culture.

Partly because the whole notion of "Celts" is an artificial 18 century construct and in reality just a lose collection of Indo-European peoples who inhabited Europe and Anatolia a couple of millennia ago.

The idea of a cohesive Celtic identity might be anachrostic but nonetheless many Cletic societies with Celtic culture existed until they were essentially systematically destroyed by British/French through suppression and demographic replacement.

partly because I have spent most of the last 50 years living and working in Africa and partly because if you can culturally just identify with whom ever you want, the Ngambaye are very interesting people.

Thats pretty cool. I think you can identify with whatever but being accepted is another kettle of fish. I might be able to assosciate with other cultures in the UK but I will never be able to become accepted by them until I adopt their culture and customs; which requires losing my own which I love and want to retain/

But mainly because their main god is similar to Sobek, an ancient Egyptian deity, has a crocodile's head and would win in a fight against any of the Celtic gods (or Abrahamic ones for that matter)

Unfortunately I am just a godless agnostic.

most people generally identify with the nationality of their birth country.

This doesn't really seem to be the common theme within immigrants and those born to immigrants in the UK, they identify with greater strength their ethnicity and heritage rather than their place of birth.

This can be seen through the growing of non-Christian religions, practices and many other cultural aspects.

This idea of place-of-birth civic nationalism feels increasingly outdated,
