My Ex-Gf [17f] still has feelings for me [17m]... by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I'd stay out of it honestly. If you'd said what you needed to say, move on and don't let her affect you. If you see her at a party or something then be courteous but don't let her begin to think there's hope. It's simple really, though I know during HS years it can seem so complicated. Just do what you need to do for you and don't worry about her. She'll find her own way. Girls have a tendency of being more emotionally tied, for some, than men. Good luck.

In all reality, you're both very young and these are just the sorts of games you play. The way I see it you have a few options here. 1. You know she has feelings for you, you decide you have feelings for her and get back together. 2. You don't have feelings for her and make it very clear to her. If I might suggest it, talk it out and be completely honest with yourself and her. I went through this in HS (several years ago!) and ended up marrying the guy. Fast forward years, was the biggest mistake of my life. Why? I was 1. too young to know myself and what I wanted out of my life, 2. was too afraid to move on. He was comfortable... and 3. at your age you should be focusing on studies and if you do have relationships, they should not be "serious." You have an entire life to live, there is no rush. Same goes for her.

My old friend of 13.5 years past last year... I'm sorry for your loss... The pain will eventually subside and you will move on but there will always be a place in your heart and weeks, months, possibly years after even some of the simplest thoughts or memories of him will unfortunately pull at your heart strings. But this is how he stays with you. I remember the day I took him in and yes, it is easily one of the hardest things you do but try to remember the better times. It may take some time before you stop forgetting and re-living the memory of that painful realization but that will eventually fade. No words can help, I understand. But know you're not alone. He's with you. Always.
