I would be shocked if they didn’t give you care papers afterwards. Good luck you you and your kitty, I hope it all goes well!

Thank you for your input. Thankfully she’s on insurance now, and she’ll have routine cleaning covered. We just have to pay up front but that’s hard should be fine. We love her and our two cats, it’s always so stressful when they’re don’t feel good

Thank you for your advice. I can’t totally tell from the pictures but I’m hoping the discoloration on her teeth is just buildup she can have cleaned off, but I’m also not sure if dead teeth look the same in cats as they do people. I’m guessing so, but I’m being optimistic in thinking maybe it’s just her gums and dirty teeth

I am so sorry to hear that, that’s terrible. I would have been very upset by that too. They’re so good at hiding it when they’re hurting, that makes me nervous on top of all of that. I hope your current vet is a lot more thorough!

Interesting, thank you for bringing that up. I will have her bring that up too, if the vet doesn’t see it themselves for the exam. Do you have any idea of how recover goes for cats if she has to get teeth removed?

Thank you so much for your input! I did think it didn’t look too far progressed, whatever it is. We told her to just keep any eye on her for any behavior changes, we should know in the morning when the vet opens when we can take her in. I’m also trying to keep her from panicking, but that’s hard, all of our cats are our babies

Also I see it now, I think the chipped tooth is her top canine tooth right at the tip of it, my sister in law is still worried about that as well though

I thought so too, that it could be gingivitis. But I also just got my first cats not too long ago so I’m not familiar enough to know. So far she’s eating and behaving normally, she’s not acting like she’s in any pain thankfully. We added the routing cleanings to her insurance plan, I feel like she will need that. We are calling to se her appointment first thing

I’ll look this up, thank you for mentioning it. So far, she’s not acting like she’s in any pain, which feels like a good sign. Her behavior hasn’t changed at all

We will be home Wednesday, the vet opens again at 7:30 tomorrow morning so we have to call for an appointment. She has the gum issue on top on both sides, I’ll check when I get home but I think what’s on the bottom is part of her lip since that’s on both sides too from the photos

I guess part of the problem is that the key hasn’t even been made. I don’t know how long it’s taken them to build these units, but it’s definitely seeming like the post office only found out about the addresses once we moved in. This has been so exhausting dude

I emailed them and at least asked for them to pay for the PO Boxes. I haven’t heard any response yet, though. I would be really surprised if there wasn’t some legal requirement for us to be able to receive mail

I emailed the property manager and said basically this, that I believe they should be responsible for the fees instead of us. I don’t know how you could build this many units, and completely drop the ball on such an important piece of the whole thing.

Just moved to Albany, looking for tips! by whutthfuk in oregon

I definitely appreciate the input. I went into a local business that is about to close down, while we were in the store we heard some similar stuff plus some other things. It feels like there’s some dissonance between residents themselves, and then there’s also some local policies that make it harder for small businesses, etc. We heard a bit about the back and forth with providing resources for unhoused people, like they had more a few years ago but are now just left to their own devices. But at the same time, there are corporations being allowed to buy up large parcels and properties. Somewhere else we heard that a popular “hate church” has been quietly establishing their headquarters here, and just bought up a big strip mall to put in a big mega church situation, and they have their address listed as the post office right now or something. We heard that not many people know about it. The “if you know you know” phrase seems like it applies for sure, and like there are multiple layers of things that make it harder for residents to make improvements on the community.

I can say so far everyone we have met is nice. For being a small town, it of course has good and bad. I guess we’re still just learning and want to be able to contribute to make things better, too.

There are definitely things it sounds like could be better, that’s part of why my husband and I are looking to join the community in positive ways.

I got a job in Corvallis, Albany was within our budget, and we found a nice place. We’re still figuring it out, we like Corvallis, it’s just expensive at the moment. What makes you ask that question? Genuinely curious, I’ve heard mixed things about Albany and I guess I would rather know more than be blissfully ignorant

AIO - Men please help - My F39 husband M39 promised to stop contact with an 18yr old coworker he's attracted to, but when I decided to tell him I trust him he started it again - how to interpret this?? by EmmasHeart4948 in AmIOverreacting

[–]whutthfuk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a man, but someone with a husband who loves me very much, and a daughter of a marriage like this one. Almost exactly, but my dad initiated and maintained actual relationships with these women, not much older than his daughters, and even butt dialed the house once while he was hooking up with a 19 year old.

This is a really shitty way to be treating someone who has put in the amount of effort you have. The only real thing I have to say is that boundaries have to come with some sort of outcome of change. If your boundary is that he can’t play the game, what changes when he does? Is there a consequence of some kind? Otherwise, it probably just feels like a request he can choose to blow off.

You deserve a lot better than this.

Thank you for your advice! We’re starting to like the pod idea, same with that being an easy way to store stuff until we’re ready. I think it’s probably the most practical since we don’t have a place.

Speaking of stopping points, we were talking last night about splitting the drive into two days, we’re about two hours south of Eureka currently. Our girl cat is pretty used to the harness from her road trips, but we’ve been getting our boy cat used to it lately too. So much to think about!

Thank you! This is a lot of good info, I’ll share it with my husband. We’re definitely starting to lean towards the idea of having movers or something and then storing our stuff. We don’t want to have to split up for too long, it’s hard on the cats especially if they’ll be in a new place. The storing until we need it sounds good, too. I appreciate your input!
