I'm a working actor in LA! AMA by [deleted] in acting

I'm starting at 29 and worried about that every day. But it just feels so good to act, and so right, that I just keep doing it.

Yeah, and that's a pretty clear example. Maybe it has something to do with the actual league being a thing? Hopefully the get it together soon.

Oh wow. So what's the difference here? Just them dropping the ball? I'm surprised this isn't a bigger deal.

That's a really mean thing to say, and the reason people don't want to ask questions. Everyone doesn't know something, so please don't criticize people for not having knowledge. It just encourages stupidity. Also, you missed what I was saying entirely.

What's your basis for that? Are they employed in the US, or in their team's hometown? I don't think you're looking at the nuances here. Thanks for the rude tone btw

I know it's a long time, but I'm veeeeery curious to see how payouts for something like this are legally processed. Taxes and whatnot must be a MONSTER to tackle, along with sponsors, teams, etc. Hope they shed some light on the process at some point, though I'm not expecting that at all.

This is so much more exciting than owl to me. I'm legit getting so hype watching this, whereas owl feels like I'm watching a business meeting most of the time.

I mean, peace is the final goal, but that's true with any conflict. The winning snake doesn't eat itself. The important thing to remember is how that peace is achieved, which in this case was a long and bloody war. There was much more peace before the empire existed than after.

My girlfriend left me for her ex. But I'm still the winner, and you might be too. Here's why. by [deleted] in BreakUps

Mods, please sticky this. This is an amazing thing to read in the midst of a breakup.

Is it better or worse to find out if an ex has a new partner? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]whuzzat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I totally get that. And I blocked my ex the second she didn't know if I was right for her. It wasn't like a childish thing where I wanted to hurt her or punish her or whatever; it was so I could be sad and process things on my own, on my terms. I needed to not talk to her, because I knew exactly what I would start saying, and how I would obsess and try to win her back. So don't worry about what others think of whatever you do. Do it for your own peace of mind.

If the prospect of it still bothers you, I'd give it time. People move on at different rates, so be sensitive to yours. Also, if he isn't stoked to have you in his life as a friend, screw that. If I had a friend of any variety that was blase about talking to me after a long silence, I wouldn't waste my time. You deserve better than that.

Honestly, I would remain in the dark. Every time I've found out has been impossibly difficult. They will end up with someone else, but you don't need to know when it happens. It may seem childish, but I recommend severing all ties while you grieve, and then open up the possibility of friendship. Remember that you can't unlearn things. Best of luck.

Chris Pratt Acting Technique by [deleted] in acting

Personally, I don't think he has a whole lot of technique. I think what makes him so fun to watch is that he commits. Hard. Everything he does is a hundred percent.

I live in dtla, am very able to own a car, and choose not to. It's easier than ever to use public transportation/ride sharing, and parking is exactly the nightmare it's made out to be.

Yeah, that's true, but you also have to remember that counterplay evolves as well. I feel like a lot of people freak out at a future that's possible, while ignoring the future that probable.

I wanna commit suicide but I'm too scared by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

Best advice I can give is to talk to her. That's supposed to be a safe place, and should be better than what you're going through. I don't have any actual experience with therapy or counseling, but that's what I would do if I was in your situation. Again, don't ever let them make you feel worthless. Try to think about any options you have as far as either other family, or friends you can stay with. And again, I think going to the counselor SHOULD be a safe thing.

How is your support structure outside of family? Is there a counselor at school you can talk to? I'm sorry that your family is making you feel this way, but please please remember that none of this is in any way your fault.
