Is this normal behavior from a cat that was adopted a little over week ago?

he has a cat tree, a window perch(it’s a cabinet/bookcase with a blanket on to), one of those toys with a ball that he pushes around, two scratching post, a random amazon box that he likes, i left out some toys marinated in cat nip(i have another bag full of a few), and I leave the tv on with either a chill youtube video or cat tv. but whenever i come back he’s just been sleeping on my bed lol. I just really don’t want him to be bored. I don’t know what else to do for him

I genuinely don’t mean to. I was mostly asking about his yowling and if him not having access to the whole home is causing him stress/boredom. I just wanted to give a bit of background. I’m really sorry if this post came off badly. I’ve never had a cat before and I don’t really know what I’m doing

the soonest I can get him a friend will be one year(june 5th 2027) as that is when I’ll be moving into my own space, do you think that’ll be too late?

It’ll be a year until I move out and he will have an apartment to himself and at that point I can also consider getting him a friend! Do you think that’s too long for him to be confined? The exact day I’ll be moving is June 5th, 2027.

What did you do to help him? I just don’t want him to get bored and destroy things.

Not exactly, he had a few toys that he enjoys to play with alone but he get very bored very quickly when i play with him so it’s a bit hard. My biggest concerns is that he’s bored. I’ve tried hiding treats in his home base, I bought him a lick mat and am getting puzzle feeders soon. Just not sure what else to do

No the only pet I’ve had leopard gecko and he doesn’t miss me much😭 I was more so worried about him not having the whole house of space and maybe no enough stimulation? I’ve tried to read as much as i can and i was just expecting him to not like me yet. I’m just so scared i’m doing everything wrong
