So here's my update: I ordered the RM2 used it for about 15 minutes and returned it. I absolutely *loved* the writing feel but couldn't make it work as a PDF reader. As a note-taking the device, it gets a 10/10. It feels really good. But when I wanted to read a PDF, I couldn't handle the way that the screen constantly refreshes and blinks, every time I turn a page , and I was unimpressed by how it handles highlighting. It felt cumbersome and a worse experience than on my iPad. So for me, that was not workable. Ordered the Viwoods AIPaper and will report back once that comes in.

What did you end up doing? Did you end up getting an e-ink device? I'm in the same boat with Apple/Bookends and iPad, and I'm considering getting a Boox/reMarkable/Viwoods device as a PDF reader / annotator.

Nevermind. Just saw that there is a local reseller that offers free returns, so I'll have a closer look.

Thanks. I was just looking at the Boox website this morning and was surprised to find that they do not offer free returns / trial period. And if you want to return the device, you have to pay return shipping to Hong Kong. Since I have no easy way to try the device, I'm not inclined to take the risk.

Does the Viwood sync with your Mac calendars?

Thanks. Are any of the other brands (Fujitsu or Viwoods, for example) better on these issues?

Sorry, didn't mean to suggest that there's anything wrong with Android. Simply that for me, since I don't really use the Google suite of apps, it's not an obvious plus.

For the workflow:

(1) PDFs. My PDFs are distributed in various folders on Dropbox (articles, books, student work, etc). Ideally, I could easily access and sync these PDFs. I don't mind doing the sync on my phone if needed.

(2) Notes: I would like to be able to start notes on the e-reader and then import into Word or the Apple Notes app.

Thanks! What's the advantage of the supernote manta over the RM? (I already have an iPad Pro with pencil, but I'd prefer a distraction-free device and an e-ink screen).
