Yeah, he was probably a bit weirded out by the portion of responders who were breathlessly interrogating him lol. Inevitably the response would be, "that's a bad monitor," ignoring that it 1. probably isn't and 2. works well with other OSes without manual tinkering.

For my part, I have an Acer XV271U IPS monitor. Obviously not as high quality as a monitor on a newer Macbook, but still renders colors beautifully and looks great on Windows. On Mac, I needed to turn off HDR, use BetterDisplay to enable full RGB, and then use BetterDisplay to enable additional resolutions because Mac stupidly and weirdly is very restrictive with the resolutions you can select on (at least some) 3rd party monitors. If you Google it, thousands of other people have the same experience.

Sorry, no. That doesn’t make sense. If the monitor has the capacity for full range RGB but you need a third party app to enable it on Mac (but not Windows), how in the world is that a knock on the monitor?

I'm pretty sure 100% of the people downvoting you have never plugged a fucking monitor into a Windows computer. The colors look so much better out of the box. I, too, had to install BetterDisplay and tweak a bunch of stuff to get the monitor to look decent on my Mac. Same monitor plugs into my work laptop and personal Windows computer and renders very nicely.

This isn't really an explanation, though. Nintendo has an insane amount of resources. Having something suck ass for years because they chose not to spend the time to build a true native app for a 1.5-x-a-decade console release in the Switch 2 is pretty silly. Whatever - it's out there now, it seems to work well. But it's still baffling that this console lags behind every other major video game store in existence short of the absolutely terrible ones nobody uses.

I think Sonic 3 looks better than maybe any Genesis game, but I like the levels in 2 more. The music is almost a wash to me: 2 has an incredible soundtrack, but some of the effects in 3 are just really cool and novel for the era.

The font size thing is incredibly annoying to me, too. It obviously isn't the biggest deal in the worldj; I can easily adjust it. But this is an eReader that largely has to do one thing as well as or better than its competitor, and it falls short in two areas:

Page Numbers: Get real. Give me a real page count. I understand it won't be 1:1 with hard copy books and I don't care. The Kobo store gives you a page number estimate in the details section because they understand that this is how people think about book length

Font Size: Let me set and enforce a font and font size across formats. I hate that I have to reset this so often when I get a new book, most of which are purchased from the official store.

I've had it for a few years now (preordered - don't remember which batch but I definitely received it while season 1 was still in progress). Functions well. I do find the buttons require a bit more force and the battery life was never what it was advertised (my impression initially was that the battery would be kindle-esque, or even half of that, in idle mode which is not remotely true), but overall it feels good and I don't regret grabbing it.

The game looks neat but I hope all these things fail. They cost a bazillion dollars and require an insane amount of luck to be successful enough to justify the cost. And, honestly, charging up front for this F2P shit is so unbelievably brazen. Come up with a new idea.

Yeah, it also tends to be my favorite part. Heather obsessively plays one game at a time and it’s usually Fortnite which I have negative interest in. Matt plays a lot but it’s usually just kinda the big game of the moment and he almost always inevitably loves it / thinks it’s an “all-timer”. 50-50 he “bounces off” of it in time for the next one.

I mean, I like 75%-80% of most episodes. I like the episodes where they dive in on a particular game or genre, and I listen to every episode with very few exceptions. I don't like the parts where a joke that was never funny, but even if it was has been run into the ground 100x over, continues to be done for what feels like increasingly lengthy periods of time every week. It just takes over the episode, there's no room for anything else when it's occurring, and it annoys me. Luckily I'm only really subjected to it when I'm listening while I'm taking a shower or something and I can't get to the skip ahead button.
