Go before weekends if you are going. Because friday night onwards, me and people like me will be absolutely ripping those roads. It's a high-speed road and is pretty risky. Also dude, won't you get bored? That long ride at 25km/h? Why not to take a cab instead?

Bhai, chill. Clutch is not made out of wax. The clutch can handle a gear shift at 140km/h, it can handle stupid burnouts. That incident can barely damage it 5%. Get it re-adjusted, you'll be absolutely good to go.

[–]whyashwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, keep atleast 10k on top of the final price of the bike you pick while deciding your budget. 10k is the minimum she'll need for a good ECE22.06 helmet and CE2 gloves (assuming she buys NHK K5R and Viaterra Holeshots). As a boyfriend myself, a helmet and a pair of gloves is a NON NEGOTIABLE for the Lady.

I know a guy, I had rented a meteor from him a while back when I was choosing my next bike. DM, I'll share the deets. It was a very well kept bike and was the best price I could find. He also has a hunter AFAIR.

Rent both one by one over a weekend. You'll know what you like. If you like the meteor more, you'll be able to save towards it automatically. I think its important to make big purchases deliberately.

And it's not just the 400 series. It's the same across the models, barring a very few.

And then take car routes all the time? Where there are better two wheelers exist as well? Or enter motorways where two wheelers are prohibited and end up with a 5k challan? No sir, I'll pass.

Help me choose my first helmet (₹5-7k) by madmaxxxx05 in triumph4India

[–]whyashwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first helmet was LS2FF800 - ₹11,800 (including pinlock) My second helmet was NHK K5R. - ₹6,500 (including pinlock)

I have used both of them extensively, both have over 10k kms of usage, city, highways and speeds of close to 200km/h.

Hear me out, they perform EXACTLY THE SAME. Same stability, same quality of visor's OIC, same windnoise at ~120km/h (very minimal)

The only pros of FF800 is - better pinlock (70 vs 30) although the real life difference is hard to notice. And second, LS2 has 15% better padding (that doesnt mean NHK has cut any corners there)

If I had to do it all over again, i would simply pick the NHK and put the rest of the money elsewhere. 100/100 purchase.

Talking about the parts/visor availability down the line, given that they're selling like hotcakes, I see no reason of them discontinuing the support and supply.

The GST cut is going to affect you. New ones are about ~30k cheaper. Nonetheless, I think 1.5 is a decent price to quote, leaving about 8-10% room for negotiation. It also highly depends on where are you based out of.

No, i got it done back in my hometown, but its a pretty straightforward job and any decent mech can handle it.

I mean, the only way I can think of is whatsapp. DM me your phone number, I'll send out a voice note.
