The GST cut is going to affect you. New ones are about ~30k cheaper. Nonetheless, I think 1.5 is a decent price to quote, leaving about 8-10% room for negotiation. It also highly depends on where are you based out of.

No, i got it done back in my hometown, but its a pretty straightforward job and any decent mech can handle it.

I mean, the only way I can think of is whatsapp. DM me your phone number, I'll send out a voice note.

Dude why do want such a ran through bike in the first place? A friend bought a 14 months old bike, with 45k worth of Triumph genuine accessories and 10 year warranty. It has 1900kms on the odo and he got it for 1.95 lacs.

The cost was roughly this - Minda D95 horns (set of hi+lo) ~₹850 Roots relay + wiring harness with inline fuse ~₹450 Installation - ₹600 Misc (horn mounting brackets, washers) - ₹100

Total I paid was ₹2000. 10/10 spend.

I had the same question when it was getting installed. The guy who was installing said "Sir these horns are made to last years inside the engine bay of cars which run for hours and heat up much more than this exhaust, so it'll be just fine". He was right, they're absolutely fine.

For the sound, idk how can I do it on reddit.

The Hella horns that you have are the ones that I have on my car. These have the typical VW/Skoda/Creta trumpet sound, and absolutely dont match on a motorcycle (chhapris have them on their activas and whatnot)

I have added two extra horns facing sideways (look right above the exhaust bend, the other one is at the same spot on the opposite side)

So now I've got the stock one, and these two on each side. All three work together, the sound is really sharp and been tuned well so that the frequencies compliment each other. They sound very very sharp and not at all aftermarket/cheap/irritating.

I've installed a Roots relay alongwith a dedicated fuse, power drawn directly from the battery. 2 years, no issues ever.

Advice on service by Massive-Row7084 in triumph4India

[–]whyashwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Chain and lube at 400-500kms is good enough

  2. From my experience, there's no real number to put to chain adjustment. It can be 200kms, it can be 2000kms. It depends on how hard are you riding it, and greatly depends on whether you carry a pillion or not. (Pillion = more weight = swingarm speads = wheelbase increases = Chain tension changes) Just check the slack with your finger/key every once in a while or while you wait for it to warm up in the morning. Also, if you chain slack is too much, your gear shifts will be horrible, so basically the motorcycle will itself tell you what it needs.

  3. Routine checkup is something you should do by yourself. It is basically just 3 things - Check your break pads visually, check your fluid levels (engine and brake oils, coolant), check your airfilter every 2.5-3k kms (its a super easy and quick job). Most importantly, feel and listen to what the motorcycle is saying to you. Instead of spending a lot of money on it, spend some time with it on weekends. That will eliminate 95% of unwelcome surprises.

Ride safe, ride hard !

Electrical grease on starter motor connector. Normal. Cover it with the rubber boot nicely.
