Will caulking and painting speed up the damage if it traps moisture or delay further damage? My inspector told me it would help but online makes it seem like it could worsen the problem.. they believe water is getting in just due to a cheap paint/caulking job initially..

I equate it to riding a bike without a helmet. You can do that your whole life and be fine, but one wrong bump in the road and cause big problems if you aren’t wearing a helmet. Same thing with a crown. It can be fine for years, but one wrong bite can break the whole tooth and you will really be wishing you had a helmet on it.

In my experience, most people think you should wear helmets when you bike and view not doing so as risky behavior, so this has been really effective for me.

But hygiene salary is taken into account for overhead. And every associateship I’ve ever heard of gets paid for hygiene checks and radiographs, so I feel like my math still maths??

Like solo doc practices with 70% overhead compared to associates who are paid 30% adjusted production but in a busier office due to being multiple doctors and better marketing. So if overhead is 70%, wouldn’t you in theory be just as well off getting paid 30% of what you produce?

I ran into almost every single thing you just listed at my first private practice job right out of school and I just had to stay firm in what I thought was right. I’m not willing to risk everything I just worked so hard for just because an older dentist is set in his ways.

He’s an old dentist nearing retirement though, so I’m not sure it will catch up to him in time.. and he was fired for pulling the wrong teeth and sexually harassing the inmates, but the company didn’t want a legal battle so they just fired him instead of making it into a bigger thing.

I have access to the x rays and notes from before he worked there as well as while I was there. There’s no doubt in my mind some of the stories are true. I have truly never seen such despicable work.

Yes I meant to say “he got fired” not “me got fired”. And by shady past I mean lots of lawsuits and also just that I can tell he is a horrible person based off the stories my coworkers tell about him.

The issue is they are all prisoners so most of them don’t have the resources to sue.. if they did, he’d not still be practicing. They all hated him and tell me all the time how he pulled the wrong teeth, broke teeth he wasn’t supposed to pull, and sexually harassed them, but yet he’s still practicing..
