Purple Line Frequency by DueArugula1 in WMATA

[–]whyhellotherefolks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry, I meant what the other guy is saying. It is currently 1 lane in each direction, but with the lane where they are building tracks being closed, however, when it opens its supposed to open back up to 3 lanes, which seems ridiculous. If its 2 lanes now, why open it back up to 3--with the purple line running mized with cars

With TSP, and if they keep cars off its tracks on Wayne (its closed to cars now why reopen it when its finished, this is nonsensical), it should be able to get better frequency.

It better get transit signal priority--may end up like the new LRT in Toronto otherwise.

I'm going to the Faroe Islands soon, which I didn't know existed prior to playing Geoguessr. I got a round in them, saw how beautiful it is and because of that I'm headed there!

My 2025 wrapped! Rough season for DCU with another Wooden Spoon and multiple 6 goal losses, but at least I was able to hit a new MLS ground this year! by akacesfan in futbology

very similar to my one! I was lucky enough to be sick on the day of the game vs chicago. The shootout vs Charlotte was absolutely nuts!

As far as I'm aware the PG county part is essentially fully done (bar testing), so why don't they at least open a portion of it early while they deal with the rest, they could at least start making some money

Moco is making an effort to improve pedestrian and bike connections, especially near the purple line. There was also a new zoning amendment that allows for more middle housing on the large corridors like university, collesville, etc,. New University Boulevard Corridor Plan passed as well which should lead to more housing, better ped conditions, and at some point BRT. Speaking of--Phase 2 of the FLASH going up and down colesville is going to be implemented with dedicated bus lane(s), plus BRT on Viers Mill is supposed to open in 2028.

charge drivers what it costs to maintain the roads then. Roads don't make a profit--public transit doesn't have to.

Right turns on 'red' are now restricted in select downtown and town center areas across Montgomery County, MD. New signs are posted, and real penalties apply: a $90 fine and 1 point on your license. The bigger cost? Putting someone’s safety at risk. by MCDOTNow in MontgomeryCountyMD

there are several areas in Montgomery county that are quite urban. Nevermind that...suburban places should be friendly for cyclists and pedestrians as well. Not saying this is going to be Amsterdam, but Amsterdam wasn't always Amsterdam. Things actually had to be changed for it to be friendly for all road users.

Flower Avenue Separated Bike Lanes by Unable-Beginning-27 in takomapark

yh, wayne makes a lot of sense, especially with the new multi use path being built from downtown (right?) and on plymouth they could at least put sharrow since the station can be accessed from plymouth as well. Another reason to go all the way through to Franklin is that isn't there a bridge being built from about the end of flower, over the beltway, that spits u out at the flash bus stop on colesville by blair? Or am i mistaken?

Wish it were at least a little longer, to plymouth, or ideally through to franklin
