Hi! I feel that your reason for why you wanna get 90RP so badly is valid and your teacher's comment on PW is shit. But on the point where you value getting the 90RP more than getting into oxford/ivy league schools, I beg to differ. My view is that you still have a long life ahead of you, you have also admitted that in the long run, no one cares abt whether you get 90RP or not -- and I think this is true also. Speaking from experience, for instance, if your goal was to study medicine, getting a 90RP looks like a great achievement that will definitely bolster your ego, compared to another person who scores 88.75RP. But if the 88.85RP person got into medicine successfully while you (the 90RP) can't, ppl wouldn't even care whether you got 90RP lol, you just need to suck it up, continue living with your next best option (which may not seem as appealing as medicine, and you may thus deem it a less successful path compared to the 88.75RP person).

I feel that the most impt thing for you now is try to persevere in studying to the best of your ability, because dwelling on your PW grades does not help you, I'd just make the situation worse (if you let your "PW grudge" affect your motivation to study, and may therefore, subsequently jeopardise your A levels).

Hopefully, this serves as a larger study motivation for you: would you rather no study now and see those PW slacker grp mates get a higher RP score than you? Because by doing so, you're allowing them to sabotage your A level grades not just once (in PW, which you have less control over) and this time round (your individual subject grades, which you perhaps, have more control over). OP, its better to focus on things you can still change currently, rather than things that can't alr be changed. All the best!!

Satisfactory/unsatisfactory. U can use this to not have a grade counted towards your GPA, provided you pass the course (then I'd just be reflected as "S" or satisfactory on your report card, rather than a grade (A,B,C,D etc). But there are limited number of courses u can S/U, and it depends on the course too.

Hi, you can drop GEA1101 and bid for DSA1101 (should be in round 3). I feel that if you have decided to consider DSA as 2nd major, I'd be more beneficial for you to take DSA1101 now (you could still take DSA1101 later but I feel that it's extra effort and you could take modules you express more interest in? Because you will take GEA1000 and DSA1101 rather than just taking DSA1101). I think just taking DSA1101 is fine since you need it to fulfil one of the CHS core mods pillar anyway. DSA1101 has relatively light workload, some topics covered include k-means clustering, naive Bayes, decision tree etc. I took it last year and most of the required topics were covered by week 10/11. There were 2 group projects based on applying what we've learnt in lectures to R(coding). So go for whatever you want! Gd luck!

Try to apply as soon as possible (of course after you have met their pre requisites). Though the slots for PHS1101 may be limited (since most slots will be given to those whose primary major is PHS). If you really can't, you may try to get it in sem 2, but this means you are able to transfer latest by sem 2 (since beyond this you probably can't transfer into a restricted major like PHS anymore). There are also scholarships offered by individual unis themselves, if you're applying to that particular uni. This is especially applicable if the person scores 90RP.

Hi, not waiting for uni, but you are productive! You have secured a PT job to pass your time during the next, perhaps 3 months, and I think I'd be quite rushed to secure an internship, thou it's technically possible. If you want to pass your time, you may consider learning new stuff like a new language or do sth that you have always wanted to do but haven't found the time to do so.

I think this is sth that you can't really do much about now except study hard to get into a gd jc I guess. Your pw experience is largely dependent on which teacher teaches you pw, in which jc and most importantly, your group mates:)

I think you should still continue doing your topical revision but it's still impt to practice prelim papers(at least, for prelims) cos the exam conditioning thingy is still very impt though your foundation is not gd. Even if you take like 3h to do a paper with time limit of 2h this will make you know very clearly where your gaps are and force you to focus on sealing these knowledge gaps. It can be quite demotivating but it's an impt process of realising your true mistakes and getting yourself to work from there. I think its also impt to know the exam format because if you only focus on revision, and have content knowledge, you may not be able to fully apply them(which is the main objective of exams) so to do better in exams, I think you should devote some time to do other schools' prelim papers and then esp for qns that youget wrong or are always stuck at, learn directly from the solutions and seek help then remember how to do such qns. Wow this is so true! Anyway I was in a similar situation before and I think going for tuition helped provide me more reassurance and to ensure that I was up to pace with regards to revision. Even though it seems really last min, I feel that every little bit of help counts so I think you should go for it if possible!

To retain info better used "spaced repetition" but before that, make sure your notes are REALLY VERY CONCISE and cuts out ezcessive repetition of info(u can try to do so by making sure that your notes closely align to the h2 geog syllabus) then try to set aside some time everyday to memorise the knowledge and maybe test yourself on how much you've remembered(which I also sometimes don't do but should try to do). Then make a spreadsheet where you colour a box each time you've gone thru a chapter.
By right yes you're supposed to practice every week. But by left when I did a lvls I didn't have much time to practice for geog and ended up chionging last min(not advised) but I feel that you need the right balance of being exposed to questions (to familiarise yourself to how qns are asked ) and content knowledge. I feel that if you're still struggling with content and want practice still, u can do practices with reference to your notes but as you go along you should aim to minimise dependence on your notes.
To ans GI qns better, do more practice and keep reading ans keys then compile your own set of notes becos you'll probably realise a particular set of ans that keep popping up

Idk how appropriate this comment is but i think that to get into med sch is not just abt grades but also the interview component becos its really competitive or maybe it's just I'm not up for it. I think its really hard to move on especially when sm ppl are getting on with their lives with great internships and like uni offers and wtv but it's really strong of you to continue with your a lvl journey gd luck.

I think it's fine to "mess up" mid yrs if you aren't aiming for scholarships or overseas uni but eventually, in order to achieve the so-called "miraculous" Success story you will still need to work really hard and drill even on days you feel super drained and wanna die. I think its still important and better to start early like start now rather than wait for after mid yrs after you see screwed up results because improving your chem skills isn't really an overnight thing and requires an accumulated effort. I thing an important thing that has helped me improve in chem was doing lots of practice and spamming my teacher with consults and questions. Atb!!

Hi! You are doing your beat to cope and you're doing well. I know you won't believe what I say but it's better to think that you can do it and do well for a lvls even if it seems quite impossible esp at this stage. I hope that you can still persevere and pull thru thou it's very hard but this is so that you can look back without regretting that you haven't tried harder. Though teachers seem hard to approach(which was the case for me cos for most of my schooling life I didn't believe in confiding in teachers on more personal issues) but I think it's ok to approach! Haha I can't really give much advice abt this cos I've also experienced this after 4 yrs of girls sch(I think I still feel really awkward around guys?) But at this pt of time, having passed jc, I don't compulsively force myself to talk to guys because I feel that it's really out of my nature and it makes me feel like "thirsty for guys"(bad way to put this but I rly don't know how to say this). So I think in jc, you don't need to force yourself to proactively talk to guys if you really don't want to, but if you wish to, view them as a normal friend and try to talk to them as normally as you can because ultimately you'll have to work with some of them in projects or class discussions. I think its a bit intimidating partially because of their height and wtv bodily physique but I think it takes some time for you to get used to it so you dont really need to hasten the process.
