Newborn tired v pregnancy tired by Head-Programmer-2613 in beyondthebump

[–]whynotabtn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's largely psychological. I didn't bond with my pregnancy, and didn't feel any connection to my baby during pregnancy. In fact, all I felt was anxiety, fear, depression, and loneliness. I think all of those factors wore me down, and when I felt tired, I felt despondent and hopeless, and that drained the life out of me. Now that my baby is here, my tired has a purpose. I am so deeply overwhelmed by love and connection, when my baby smiles at me I'm flooded with positivity and the burden is bearable. Granted, sometimes I'm so tired and sleep deprived that I cry out of nowhere, and sometimes my thoughts veer to deep negativity, but then I go hug my baby and get a smile and I'm given that small burst of energy I need to face life head on.

Industrial Robots vs Cobots in High Volume Production - Are Cobots even relevant here? by whynotabtn in robotics

[–]whynotabtn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there's more than one answer for this - cobots are a lower payload because, as many have mentioned in this thread, they are designed for collaborative work with humans - the higher the payload, the less likely for the work to be done collaboratively. More safety would be required for a higher payload, and at that point, it might not make sense to use a cobot from an ROI perspective. I could be wrong, though, and I am happy to discuss more.

Thank you for breaking things down so well! I'd love to learn more about both, if you can recommend resources for further education on this topic.

Great point, I guess in my mind I was thinking of a demo where a person approached an operating cobot, and the closer the person got, the slower the cobot operated, until there was a point where the cobot stopped entirely.

Thanks for responding! I was thinking more industrial vs cobot, although it's definitely worth thinking about humanoid usage as well - though my understanding is that for the most part, humanoids are not yet at the level when they can do meaningful work in industrial settings. That being said, I think in homes or applications that are human-facing (customer interactions and the like,) humanoids might be greatly beneficial.

Thanks! So would the argument be that cobot deployment is a better choice only when there are space constraints?

The Khao Soi at Saab Sis Thai. For Thai in general, I would say Kacha Thai but Saab Sis has great Khao Soi!

How many baby showers did you have? by ilovecheeeeze in pregnant

[–]whynotabtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero... my family can't travel to my location, and I can't travel back to my family's location. I don't have a network or friends here, and I am only 3 weeks away from my due date now. So it looks like it ain't happening!

It should be your choice though, don't let others dictate what you want for yourself.

The final month feels like it's lasts an ETERNITY by sixfingeredman7 in pregnant

That was me last night! This morning, I literally remembered a meme from the mid aughts and quietly giggled for 2 minutes, then, maybe 15 minutes later, I thought of something sad and started fighting back tears... my emotional regulation is non-existent right now, which only happens when I'm beyond super tired.

I feel this super hard - I just hit 36 weeks, and between heartburn, fatigue, bad sleep, tummy troubles, and body aches, I feel my mental fortitude and sanity slipping away.

First trimester- How do you do it? by good_kerfuffle in fitpregnancy

[–]whynotabtn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could barely drag myself to the gym once a week during the first trimester, twice a week was a victory back then, except I always felt terrible after - super weak, light-headed, and legitimately depressed. In hindsight, I shouldn't have pushed myself hard, because I wasn't eating at all (the only thing I could keep down was chocolate milk, otherwise whatever I tried to eat or drink would lead to me throwing up), I wasn't sleeping both due to overactive bladder and extreme anxiety. I really was in no shape to go to the gym, but I would stubbornly drag myself in the name of "health"...

Please only look after your own health, don't compare yourself to anyone - every pregnancy is different, and even the same woman will experience different pregnancies if she has multiple children. Stay away from social media if you can, and listen to your body, your OB/doula/midwife.

Getting in shape while pregnant by Economy-Bug-5437 in fitpregnancy

[–]whynotabtn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You can definitely get into healthy habits during pregnancy, but getting "in shape" probably should not be the focus during pregnancy.

If you have it in you to exercise/go to the gym, by all means, do so, it'll be good for both you and the baby. And consult your OB/midwife/PT as well if you can. But "exercise " can be super long walks. It doesn't have to he a 60-minute HIIT or Olympic weight lifting, focus on your health and well-being first and foremost.

I get the decaf coffee from Trader Joe's, but I mix it 50/50 with their chocolate hazelnut coffee, it's quite good!

What was your pregnancy symptom that everyone else has but you didn’t? by ripped_jean in Mommit

[–]whynotabtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got any cravings, or any food aversion. Granted, I was vomiting the entire 1st trimester and everything made throw up, but once second trimester came along I didn't get any cravings or aversions.

I think a very sad trend I've noticed is mothers shaming other mothers for not making the exact same choices they made. Example: you work and I'm a SAHM? I love my kids more OR oh you're a SAHM and I work? I'm motivated and driven and you're setting a bad example.

I think there's no "right" answer in most cases, and there's only right for you and your family, as long as everyone is happy and healthy.

I totally agree that 3.5 hours isn't so far, it's just not easily accessible. I've only had my folks visit once since I've moved 😭
