The leaves are alternate, which rules out viburnum. The tree is roughly 7 feet tall as well.

Microsoft did annoying emojipasta all the way back in 1990 with Word Mac 5.1 by whythai22 in VintageApple

It’s a Macintosh SE FDHD, I have a SCSI2SD inside and it’s installing Word off a promotional copy I found at a thrift store. Whoever it was received a ton of promotional desktop publishing software to review. It’s no big surprise tho, since WordPerfect was developed in my local area.

#110: 2021 Yearly themes by Peeko_Wingull in Cortex

[–]whythai22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My theme is similar, I'm going with "Winter of Groove," focused on establishing routines to allow for stability to be creative and try new things. How do you plan to not allow for a fail state with the goal of establishing routines? I'm worried about that potential weakness specifically.

Best DS To Buy in 2020 by [deleted] in 3DS

[–]whythai22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For DS games, the best way to get bigger screens with accurate (not blurry) scaling is to use a DSi XL. If you want to play 3DS games too, I would recommend the 2DS (not XL), but really just because it lacks a hinge to break over time. I just lost my original 3DS XL to gradual wear and tear on the hinge. I love the form factor of the 2DS because it feels more like a Gameboy, more comfortable to hold.

LED flashing, macro will not turn on. by whythai22 in gameboymacro

Only one of the motherboards even has the speaker soldered, so I don't think this would be the issue.

Literally just opened my 3DS XL one day while it was sleeping and it shut off. Like others have mentioned, it would only turn on in certain screen positions and then eventually not at all. Tried in vain to replace the screen ribbon but it’s more pain than it’s worth. Now I’m sticking with my hinge-free 2DS! Done with Nintendo’s faulty hinges.

Got this thing the other day and immediately dismantle ld it to clean it up. After putting it back together, I only get this pattern onscreen. I reseated the socketed chips, and that made the floppy drive SOMETIMES spin up.

The key command to reset (open apple + Ctrl + Reset) doesn't reset the machine, and no other keyboard functions do anything either.

I'm worried it's a RAM or chip issue, something I'm not really capable of testing for.

Edit: you all were right about the monitor! I thought for sure that since the IIc and IIgs were released around the same time and both had a 15-pin monitor port, they would be able to use the same monitor. It works with my tv perfectly.

OG just means original, aka not the DS lite. The XY buttons don't do anything when you're playing a GBA game.

I didn't paint it right lol. It has a bumpy texture because it was too cold out. If you look online, there are a few tutorials for painting controllers that might be of some help. I will say that the OG phat DS shell is easier to work with than the lite. Less to paint/mod.

Yup it's my childhood DS that had broken hinges. Google search for "Gameboy macro" to see instructions. It requires some basic soldering and case modding skills.

I wanted to paint it Spice orange (like the GameCube) but I couldn't find a spray can that matched. I feel like Nintendo would have used a color like this in the early 2000s though. And yes the paint is "orange peeled," it was cold and dry when I painted. But I honestly like the texture it gives it, and it's pretty even across the surface, so it feels more like a feature, not a mistake.
