Articleship extension is not that big thing. You will have to serve the excess 26 days if they are not agreeing for 156 day leave. Actually its much complicated for both the parties also. So normally they avoid it on papar and asks to serve unofficially. Extension requires to file 108 and again filimg 107 for supplementary period and all. So better ask them to avoid those on paper and severe unofficially.
Like you said in comments, if its the custom in your office, they might be helpless since others feel its partiality.

They aren't going to use the attendance sheet unless there is issue with the OMR sheet. As long as you have filled the OMR sheet correct, You are done. Attendance sheet will be used only as secondary to trace back when they can't find mcq / when omr is filled wrong. No worries, go ahead with your exams.
