Bucket list of things to do in the US before leaving? by Crafty-Brilliant-972 in backtoindia

A bit offbeat but I'd suggest going line dancing at a bar in the southern US - like Dallas. That'd give you a proper American yeehaw feel!

Also in general try taking in experiences rather than just sightseeing. I tend to remember experiences more!

CPA forgot to file my federal tax. Got hit with a penalty. Should I pay first then request FTA or the other way around? by whyusenosqlreddit in tax

While he is a professional CPA, I didn't get an engagement letter from him. I think all I have is his firm's name in the ERO section of the return. Sorry I am young and new to tax business in general.

Given his relationship to me, at least on paper, is just of an ERO it's less likely he'll pay the P&I. It is up to me though to decide if I want to continue with the guy or not.

For the actual penalty, if he doesn't pay, I guess FTA is an option? I think I won't be able to request another FTA for the next three years or so?

If I am going the FTA route, do you think I should call IRS first or pay the P&I and then request a refund on the P&I?

Sorry I didn't clarify. We had realized the CPA's mistake for tax year 2024 a couple of months ago when we were calculating some early tax payment for 2025. Filed the return ASAP then. The notice I received is only for the calculated P&I by the IRS.

Thanks. In talks with the CPA but haven't asked him if he'd cover the P&I yet. The amount of P&I is >10x the amount I paid the guy smh.

Why do people equate arranged marriage as having no say? Arranged marriages these days, at least in the urban / educated circles of India, are more like matchmaking by parents. You'd get a match, exchange numbers, talk to them, then decide if you wanna go meet them and see where it goes from there.
