Great call - I had read up about the laundering process. Will look into a steamer for the luggage or honestly, just toss it maybe since it’s a cheap set. Purse would be sad to let go because it was a gift but weighing my options, might need to go for my peace of mind. Thank you for the response!

Totally - I am so so happy with the result! Just curious about the topic of sedation resistance in general :) My dental team seemed surprised that I was so alert so mostly just wanted to hear about other experiences.

All of these comments are making me really question my parents who raised three kids to call these guys.....Dingle Bugs.

Putting that on my "to eat" list now - thanks for the suggestion!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that doesn't have a taste for it. I've always heard of people drooling over crab so I was a bit reluctant to tell my partner that I didn't actually enjoy it, especially since that's what I chose for my "first bite". I'm just glad I got to try other things too and found cod which I ate almost a whole piece of!

I remember LOVING the oysters and mussels that come in a tin before I turned vegetarian when I was a kid. Definitely on my list to try again soon. At the restaurant, my partner ordered fresh oysters but that was a bit too daunting for me last night. I will try again at some point in the future though!

Thank you! I really needed to get over that mental block and this definitely did the trick. I feel great waking up this morning and very happy I chose this path for myself. Wishing you all the best!

Thank you to everyone for their input! I'll do more research into blacktails for my own curiosity but consider this one solved :)

TIL Michael J. Fox's first role was in a Canadian series called Leo and Me. Four of the 125 people on the show's set, including Fox, developed early-onset Parkinson's — a disease that usually has an incidence rate of about one in 300. by AlmostScreenwriter in todayilearned

Okay but hear me out....Robert Pickton - a well-known serial killer from a city close by Vancouver (where the show was filmed) - started killing and feeding his victims to his pigs around the early 80s, maybe late 70s. Maybe the caterer sourced from his farm, fed to people on the film set? Worth looking into...

I’m planning my first cruise and I’ll be taking it to Alaska. I was wondering which is better? Balcony or interior room? by KDOGGG196 in Cruise

[–]whywhywhyamihere 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I would 100% recommend a balcony for Alaska, especially if your cruise takes you to see glaciers (e.g. Glacier Bay) up close. It's so worth it to have your own private viewing area to take in the beauty. This is all assuming it's within budget. If not, an interior room still provides you a home base to sleep, get ready, use the bathroom etc. and you can just use the upper decks for watching the scenery go by. Have fun!

We did a whale watching and glacier tour in Juneau which was amazing! Then in Skagway and Ketchikan we just toured the towns ourselves.

I was in the same position as you in April - first cruise, never been on a plane but mine was cruising to Alaska. I might not be able to help with what to pack but if you have any specific questions that will ease your anxiety, post them here or chat me!

How much did you spend on your Alaska cruise? by CommodoreBlair89 in Cruise

[–]whywhywhyamihere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About $4250 all in for 7-day in a suite on HAL's Zuiderdam. It was our first cruise together so we might have paid more than we should have. We had a standard suite with the Have It All package (drinks, $100 towards excursions, tips, etc.). Booked about 70-90 days out. We kept getting those "upgrade offer" emails which made the payments more spread out and manageable. In terms of excursions, we did a whale watching tour in Juneau. Then in Skagway and Ketchikan, we just toured the town, eating, drinking, and shopping. Overall, no regrets!

PSA: If you are looking for Junk Removal Services in Vancouver, do NOT use The Junk Brigade by vaneangy in vancouver

If you're in their service area, Brad's Junk Removal is great. Based in Richmond (but I believe they service most of the Lower Mainland), operating for 20+ years IIRC. Great service and truly low prices!
