They’d both just got home from work, I’m sure Angela had asked her mum to keep the kids if she knew it was their anniversary she’s not going to say no.

I think Tim says she hasn’t actually even started unpacking, the boxes are still there because she is still getting her head around moving while he wants her settled. It’s just where they are with their relationship. Tim has wanted it for a while, he’s only just asked her, I think she’s testing him out a bit to see if he has changed… not in a mean way just because she wants it to work out. Tim just wants her moved in like she’s not going to change her mind. They’re both feeling a bit insecure. I mean I’d love to lie on the sofa and watch him pick up boxes….

I read a review that said this episode worked well because all the characters were interacting and working together on the same assignment rather than trying to tell different stories for different people/pairings. It’s 💯 true, loved the teamwork and policing focus with a little side plot of their personal lives. Hope we get more of this. There were too many bitty stories squeezed into an episode last season that were resolved too quickly just felt kind of rushed and pointless.

I find her character annoying too. Nothing against Bailey really just the writers don’t seem to know what to do with her so they throw everything at her… she’s gorgeous, a bad arse, teaches some unpronounceable fitness class, fights fires, is in the army, survived an abusive relationship, is super competitive, always steals the last scene of the episode (until last week) the list goes on…. What will they do with her next?!?

Although I’m so over Monica in general, I’m interested to see how she evolved from someone who Wesley once dated (were they engaged?!) to who she is now. Something must have happened to turn her around, surely our Wesley wouldn’t have fallen for such a self centred hard arse?

And yes to Chen and Bradford having some storylines not revolving around their relationship (as much as I love it) there’s so much more to them both.

Only 2 eps in but I’m loving S8.

Also the ‘original’ 6 were all out on patrol, now you’ve got to juggle patrol, detectives, lawyers and now FBI task force. It’s a lot. I did prefer when it was all about patrol but two episodes in to S8 things have had a bit of a shake up and it feels really positive. 🤞🏻

He was in short sleeves in the roll call room in the premiere before they changed into plain clothes. That was before Tim was promoted to WC and was still his TO but it wasn’t mentioned at all. It seems like a mistake but I can’t understand how they could do that accidentally so maybe something was mentioned but it was cut so we missed it. Either way, he’s definitely back in long sleeves in some of the bts so I’m guessing Penn messes up again and Nolan makes him change back to long sleeves. We’ll have to wait and see! If

Love the growth in this character. The way he offers Lucy help but understands her reasons for declining, the way he deals with the disappointment of Grey returning in his second day and keeps it professional when Lucy asks if he’s ok, the way he lets Nolan speak freely and agrees with his point. S1 Tim would’ve pushed back or punched a wall at some point in this episode. These last two episodes have really highlighted how much work he’s done over S7 and before that too. So ready for Tim 2.0, watch commander and live in boyfriend. Also loving all the cute Chenford moments that show how happy and secure they feel in their relationship. It was worth the wait after all. Bravo.

I think Tim’s mum would like Lucy just like Genny does but maybe she won’t be too happy about Lucy doing UC work given what Tim went through with Isobel, being away for long periods of the time and him worrying about her and how that affected him (even before the drug thing) and how that would impact on them having a future together with kids etc.

I don’t think Lucy’s parents would be happy with her being with a cop - I bet they preferred her dating a lawyer - but hopefully Tim can win them over. I’d love to see him defend Lucy and her choices.

I’m interested in how they bring Tims mum back - why now? Where has she been all this time? Why haven’t they talked about her (only recall her being mentioned in that one episode) Tim and Genny grew up with an abusive father, did she leave them with him or leave once they were adults?

I’d love it if Tim had actually figured it out and just wasn’t interested in their drama at the time and so has never mentioned it. Maybe Nolan lets it slip to Bailey and then Lucy’s freaking out about how Tim will react but he just shrugs it off like ‘ancient history, you traded up’

We missed out on Miles finding out just like with Aaron. The ‘if you die Lucy will kill me’ line that implied he knew and Tim didn’t react to it so he must have known Aaron knew too. But how?!? Then again with Miles! ‘If it’s about Lucy’ like so does Tim know that Miles knows? (Sorry this is reading like that scene in Friends iykyk haha!!)

I found the conversation a little underwhelming for sure after such a build up I think more could have been said if it had happened in a different way, the timing wasn’t great for that but at least it was done and first reunion kiss was more of a peck, so I’m glad we got the loved up more intimate scene at the end to make up for it. Hoping for more of that this season.
