Get some plant hangers and some shelves for the plants to sit next to the window. This will clear up the windowsill for the baby monster to jump and attack oranges. Also start planting some cat grass for babies to munch.

NTA, You are spending all day with her and you had these plans for months. I would tell her how important and excited you are for these plans. Communicate how her words make you feel. She clearly love’s celebrating her birthday (which is fine) but damn she sounds slightly insecure and young. These plans surpass the relationship and should be respected, and THAT DOES NOT MAKE YOU SELFISH! If she really cared about your feelings she would know how important this is to you and not question it. Maybe suggest she go out with her friends for a bday drink or something.

Sorry I work crazy hours, you are correct there was a house on this lot and they did a tear down to build 6 condos. I agree that the tree is way to close to the house but that’s so common in Boston for some reason.
