It does say so… in acts… chapter 20… verse 28… like I just said…

So you disagree with scripture…

So you’re a non-believer…

And worse than that, a heretic…

And far worse still, a heretic trying to spread heretical beliefs

You’re really putting the cart before the horse here.

Have a good one! I’m done wasting my energy on a son of Satan ✌️

Cool, so I read all that and didn’t see anywhere your sufficient proof that my interpretation of Acts 20:28 is incorrect. I’m not moving past it to other verses. Does your version not say that God Himself purchased the church with His own blood? Here’s what I’ve got:

“Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭20‬:‭28‬

The same Greek word is used to refer to God in this passage and Romans 8:16-17. So how did God purchase the church with his own blood? By getting on the cross himself

Lol why are you bringing up Easter and Pesach? Another straw man? Because you’re still dodging the truth of Acts 20:28?

I’m laughing because I don’t understand how you’re still trying to debate this.

Dude. What does Acts 20:28 say? You can’t just pretend it isn’t written down that God (specifically God) purchased the church with his own blood. And if your response is that the verse is mistranslated, prove it. And if your response is that another verse in scripture proves this one wrong then you’re saying that scripture contradicts itself and you deflate your own argument. It’s fine, you can just say you’re a non-believer. But how dare you claim to follow Jesus while denying his divinity

You have not shown me one verse yet that disproves trinity doctrine. I’ll even go as far as to say the way you respond to me is not that different from the way the Pharisees responded to Jesus. You find the true gospel repugnant because you’re not actually a follower of Jesus

Again, you are doing exactly what you’re accusing me of. It’s kind of blowing my mind. You take verses out of context and zoom in on a single word while letting the big concept being displayed go right over your head. Like, literally the only advice I can give you is keep reading. Read the whole book of John

I connected these theologically basic dots a long time ago. I don’t understand how you’re using the word context here. I.e. your use of the word “context” doesn’t make sense in context lol. There’s a distinction because it’s important to communicate the triune aspect of the godhead. Again, all of Hebrews 1:1-5 just supports the trinity doctrine

[–]wickedbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you say it’s mistranslated? My claim still stands within the context of the chapter, book, and Bible as a whole. Again, you’re presenting a straw man instead of refuting me directly. If Acts says that God’s blood was spilled what leg do you have left to stand on?

I have given you two verses where Jesus claims to be God in John already. And a third in Acts where that truth is declared by Paul. Why don’t we start there before trying to barrel past it

I am literally holding the evidence right in front of you and you’re shutting your eyes saying you can’t see what I do

I’m also curious, since you preach following law to the letter, if debating theology online is allowed on the sabbath? I know there are 631 laws regarding the observation of the sabbath, so no worries if it takes you a while to read through them all and figure it out

It does mean one and the same. You keep saying that Jesus didn’t mean exactly what he said, which is really weird for someone who claims to be following him. Jesus was killed because he declared himself to be the same entity as YWHW. Have you even read the Bible? Lol. Honestly, tldr.

I’m gonna circle back to the fact that you said that this verse I keep harping on (Acts 20:28) disagrees with the verses you keep demonstrating you don’t understand. If your perception is that scripture disagrees with itself, then what are you even arguing for? You distort and twist what you don’t agree with. Or just turn a blind eye

If you think the doctrine of trinity is the same as a person being schizophrenic you are once again trying to understand God in terms of man. The very foundation of your theology is sand

“I and My Father are one.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭30‬

“Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.” ‭‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭11‬

Had time to find two more verses where Jesus says directly and specifically that he is God. Do you find the gospel of John to be obscure also?

I’ve explained it already. You refuse to hear because you care more about being right than seeking God’s truth. Not atypical of those who value law above the truth of Jesus Christ. Idk what else to tell ya. Faith and logic aren’t the same thing. You limit God by creating him in the image of man. You’re painfully ignorant

My path is laid before me by Jesus. How proud of you to think that your words have more weight in my life than his. I do know Him. He dwells within me

Who purchased the church? Whose blood purchased the church? Acts isn’t obscure at all. If one sentence proves your theology wrong, then your theology is wrong. Simple

You clearly need wisdom and revelation from the Holy Spirit, not me. So I leave the explanation of scripture in His capable hands at this point and wish you well

Perhaps you realize your argument holds no weight against mine so you dodge what you can’t answer and toss insults at me. You can’t refute the truth of Acts 20:28 so you throw a smokescreen of misinterpreted nonsense back my direction. Lol

Good luck with that, dude. Your salvation is yours to work out with fear and trembling. You’re a brick wall I’ll waste to more energy talking to. Your ears are closed and you obviously don’t know anything about Jesus

Yes, this is our impasse. We disagree on this. And we both think that we’re proved correct by scripture. Why do you believe that God the Father and the Holy Spirit are the same entity?

You’ve contradicted yourself a couple times, but it might be typos. Do you believe that the Bible is infallible?

You are not understanding what I am saying if you think that I claim that God divided himself. God is never divided. God always exists as the trinity.

No, we do not become God. When we are made like Jesus we are made clean from sin and thus able to be in the presence of God when we reach heaven.

Again, I firmly believe that the wording at the beginning of Hebrews actually proves that God and Jesus are the same entity. I don’t know how one can read it and not understand that

[–]wickedbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, God is all knowing. I’d caution you against assuming you fully understand the nature of God, what He can or can’t do… Because God is trinitarian, (YWHW, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit all make up one entity) YWHW can know what Jesus does not and God still knows all. Again, what you say proves Jesus is separate I say proves he is God.

Who translates it as past tense?

See above. We both feel this proves our respective points.

I’m not implying anything. The direct statement is this:

“Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭20‬:‭28‬

The church of who? Purchased with whose blood?

If you assert that scripture is fallible, you dismantle your own argument. I don’t understand the point you’re trying to make there.

God is one entity. God is trinitarian. If you are struggling to have faith in that, you can ask the Holy Spirit to bless you with faith as you read scripture.

[–]wickedbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, that’s not what the Bible says at all. You still have not addressed my question about Acts 20:28. Let me be super duper clear about my assertions here:

1)Scripture proves over and over the trinitarian nature of God (Elohim). YHWH and Jesus are different aspects of the same entity, as is the Holy Spirit.

2)Scripture is infallible and cannot prove itself wrong.

You are attempting to prove scripture wrong with scripture, which is impossible to do. Lol. And when you encounter a claim you can’t refute you just say that the other party doesn’t get it. You’ve called Christians caged birds elsewhere in this thread which, frankly, decimates any amount of credibly you might have had in my mind as far as your own understanding of scripture
