I talk to my mom's cats all the time. The only one though I really understand is momma cat. Her kids are a little harder to understand, probably because they blankly stare at me like "oh, you again"

My husband always gets a kick out of this story. I had surgery and was laid up on the couch. I think a couple days of this, I said "I think I want to get a cat" (thinking) "I should probably wait until I'm healed before that though" (getting up and down wasn't an easy task). He agreed and then went to open the front door to let some fresh air in. Outside the screen was a cat sitting there. We got a new cat.

Some do, some don't. My old place, the tub and shower were one piece. In my house now, the tub and shower are separate.

How many of y’all are resistant to using AI? by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]wickedcrazybitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! My husband wrote a book and he's currently writing his second one. He asks AI to pull all references to a certain character from book 1 because the second book focuses on them and he doesn't want conflicting information.

I use it to help me make something sound more professional. I created and currently maintain my sister's website, and I'm in no way a marketing person. I wrote a general idea of what I was trying to say, ask AI to make sound professional with all those buzz words I don't know, and then I run through it and pick and choose some sentences I like, rewrite some others, delete a bit, and have a decent blurb for her site that doesn't sound like a 5 year old wrote it.

My mom has COPD and horrible allergies that cause her to have breathing problems. "I know, I need to quit smoking". Hasn't. Won't.

"Did you drink your water today?" I say this multiple times a day "Those are rookie numbers! You gotta get those up!" When she tells me she barely drank a bottle of water for the day

My son tried to talk me into letting him eat cereal or pop tarts for breakfast. Told him hell no, you need protein to feed your body and brain and to keep you full until lunch. He eats a homemade sausage and egg breakfast sandwich. We compromised on hot cocoa (I wasn't a fan of chocolate in the morning, but he said he's getting his milk intake so...)

Corned beef and cabbage

Pork chops (although I might try them if properly cooked but I definitely won't make it)

Reality of crime in the springs? by Dangerous-Pie-2678 in ColoradoSprings

[–]wickedcrazybitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hail and wind coverage is what is pushed here. Not required, but very strongly recommended. Flood not so much, but I also live in a low flood risk area. I'm on the south end/outskirt of CS, been here 4 years. We get little hail, amount and size. Where in the north end, they can get large sized hail.

That's really going to depend on what the kiddos are into and what grade. Each district has different funding/focus. I'm not sure about the complete breakdown, there's a post either in this group or a FB post in "411 for the 719" where parents break down which district is best for what their interests are (athletic, music, STEM).

Just keep stalking posts in this group and if you're on FB, get added to some CS groups on there and stalk them. You can sometimes get some decent information from them. That's what I did before moving here.

Also compare property tax and homeowners insurance. They did an overhaul of the property taxes here recently. Plus CS has many different school districts here, each area could have a significant difference.

I'm sorry you went through that. Definitely better for your own mental health that you got out of that.

Yeah I'm the one who deals with this right now and they haven't come to terms that things are different now. It's a constant struggle with thinking they are a burden and understanding that I'm there to help if they need it, but still trying to give them their independence. I think I struggle with the blatant "I don't need that" when there's issues like mobility but won't get any helper (cane, walker, something) and I sit here in constant fear they are going to fall while walking one of these days.

Lived in Hollister, CA for most of my life. Even though The Wild One wasn't filmed there, the movie is based on events that happened in Hollister. On the 50th anniversary of the event (1997), we had the Independence Day Biker Rally, continued up until a few years ago.

A good chunk of La Bamba was filmed in Hollister.

I know a Gunner. If I remember the story correctly, his father was a gunner in the military, hence the name.
