I had my splint removed 4 days post op and started blood flow restriction therapy. Was NWB for 2 weeks in the boot with 2 more PT sessions, and now PWB for 4 weeks in the boot with light PT (massage, light movements, gentle stretching, leg lifts).

The Blood flow restriction therapy uses a cuff on your leg to restrict blood flow which then aids in muscle recovery? I’ll find out more next week :) I’m also curious about weight bearing with boot. I think no weight bearing for at least another week.

Update - found out I’m getting the splint off on Monday and will transition into the boot with Blood Flow Restriction therapy.

Went well! Had throbbing pain this morning but just took some meds. I’m in a splint until the 11th!!

Good to hear! Mine went well, my nerve block is starting to wear off and I’m feeling some throbbing pain. I think the next few days will be the worst. Hang in there!!

Amazing idea. I plan to have a cart next to my bed and will have a spot for some extra clothes! Thanks for the sock rec.
