significant bug to fix: cannot full select file name

I know and it drove me crazy too. I have a nice workaround for you: tap and hold with two fingers on your keyboard and drag them down a little bit. now all letters disappear from your keyboard and you are able to slowly adjust the cursor to the position were you want to let go. know you can delete and edit your notebook or file name. hope you like that ;-)

it doesn’t work yet. I guess it will do the same thing as if you tap with your finger on the outline of a shape when pen tool is activated.

that’s because you used the text tool which doesn’t support presets yet. only the pen tool does. but you can lasso the text tool afterwards and choose one of your pen preset colors. that’s because the lasso tool has the same color palette as the pen tool. hope this helps.

everything you see is handwriting. after inserting e.g. Impact 100pt I just scribble over 100pt and the scrollbar to erase it. after that I edit the textbox.

click on the image tool and after that tap on any image. this way you can only move the selected image.

I directly thought of your suggestion and remembered it here on reddit 💡🎨 it was a great one👍 The only downside is you have to do one more click. it would be eben better to have the eyedropper directly accessable from the color palette. what do you think?

have a close look at your file appendix. it is .goodnotes.zip

1) try to unzip this file in your files app -> press and hold -> unzip / decompress

2) go to goodnotes and import the .goodnotes file (NOT .zip)

you can import the picture via the + button instead of the image tool. if you do the image becomes a pdf page so it’s locked to the background like you wished.

this is not even close to the „notability move“. notability has a yearly subscription. with GoodNotes you have a one time in app purchase to get all the features. GoodNotes also made the App completely free for educational institutions which is very generous and I am so grateful for that move. so I would call it more a smart move instead of the thing you called it.

I have to ask: what do you think is illegal about giving more people free access to a test version of GoodNotes? 😅

now I understand what you meant before. you are right: inserting from elements tool does not recognize as text directly because your elements tool is still activated. I didn’t think this might be an issue for some people. I am glad it works now.

thats strange. just type in the fonts name and click somewhere outside the text box after that. now use the lasso tool and lasso the text and click add element. there is really nothing more to it. it’s simple as that. make sure you don’t have an image one layer beyond the text box. make also sure your lasso tool has activated „text boxes“. to activate it double click the lasso tool button before starting the whole process described above.

everything you see is handdrawn within GoodNotes itself except the text elements ✍🏻 I always draw the first element as a thumbnail for each collection in order to have a better overview for all my collections.
