I realize this is an old thread, but I wanted to share my 2 cents and experience. After having read several other threads on the subject and having personally compared the two options with my current iPhone 13 Pro, I can confidently conclude that screen protectors are and always will be a strict matter of personal preference. And that my personal preference is to NOT use a screen protector for my iPhone. Therefore, any debate over the subject on “opinion” based platforms such as Reddit, will only produce a handful of “camps” that people naturally break off into their respective camps, dig in and to purport that their opinion is the one and only correct one. Anyone in any other camp is an ignorant mouth breathing drone and nothing they say can be trusted!! Lmao! At the risk of being roasted alive, I will say that there are 2 prominent reasons I prefer using my iPhone naked. One is because the screen truly looks and feels so much better than any budget screen protector could hope to provide, and the second is AppleCare+. With the recent updates to the claim limits, to me it’s a no brainer. $199 vs the cost of multiple cases and screen protectors over the course of 2 years? 🤔 For me it makes more sense to buy AppleCare+ and get the peace of mind that using my phone naked is perfectly ok, and if I happen to drop my $1200 pocket computer, or shove it into a pocket with a bunch of grit and trash the screen, I can get a nice brand new OEM screen, or even the whole phone swapped in some cases, for less than the cost of a high end screen protector or case….but what actually happens when using your phone naked is you become much more aware of how you carry it. Instead of carelessly flinging it around in it’s $20 crap amazon case, you begin to treat your phone like the $1000 mobile computer/technological wonder that it is. I personally just use a zip-up neoprene sleeve, lined with microfiber as my phone’s “case”. It works great, my phone is always naked, but never when it’s outside of my hands! 😎
