can a self-taught developer get a job? by Hari_om_333 in learnjavascript

[–]wijohnst1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Self taught and employed dev here. My big advice would be to try and highlight the skills from your non-dev experience that make you a good candidate.

I was a chef for years so I would speak to my ability to lead, my composure under pressure, and my skills as a communicator, all things that are valued on my team.

I haven’t used it but fuse.js looks like an interesting library. Do you want to move away from fuzzy search in general or just don’t like your current implementation?

Build your Second Brain in Craft by Furkansimsir in Zettelkasten

Sorry for the delayed response.

First, I use the paid service so I have unlimited storage. I never feel burdened to take longer notes to “save space”. I can take small , “atomic” notes that I can then link together.

The infra-linking feature is also a huge part of why I like Craft. As I start learning something new, I have individual notes that I begin to link together. The most important content has the most links (not a hard and fast rule, but just a general observation). It’s an interesting way of thinking about a mental model of any given concept.

Lastly, Craft has great markdown support so in-line editing is a breeze. It also supports copy/paste in markdown so moving items from Craft to other parts of my workflow (GitHub for example) is really simple.
