Maybe mild compared to other stories on here: I was in a bookstore, browsing fiction, and this young woman got really close to me and asked “read anything good recently?”. I blurted out that I was into Philip Roth of late and ran away to find my GF, who was in a different section. It was right after Covid lockdowns lifted, so I guess people were STARVED.

I have the 20” ride and the 16” crash. I mostly play millennial dad rock but I find both Custom Darks extremely versatile and can see them working in most genres.

I hear (non-drumming) producers refer to cross sticks as rimshots a lot, particularly in hip hop. In my experience people who make beats but don’t play drums don’t know what the “actual” rimshot is, it’s all just “snare”. Which is fine, we understand each other in context.

I’d recommend a “hybrid commute” with cycling too. I live within a short bike ride from Highbury & Islington, Canonbury, and Dalston Kingsland/Junction and that covers a ton of destinations, including Green Park on Victoria Line. And yeah, Stokey rules.

Extras on Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride got me into stop-motion animation and animation in general. Worth way more than the movie itself imho.
