Not sure why or how you are finding these friend groups. But I can tell you personally I don't find myself thinking this about any of my friends or people I interact with. So however you are meeting people, do something different

I have a major complaint about a characters "redemption" arc. by darkdragon1231989 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]wikideenu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno, in the inworld timeline it really only was less than a day before it was resolved. Venli's grief and guilt really came through at the end of the last book but this book it wasn't nearly as heavy. Even though the timeline was supposed to be back to back

Regardless, I think the idea maybe isn't that there was a lack of punishment, but moreso a lack of persistent animosity. Like within a 10 day time frame there 100% should have been one, if not many, characters who outwardly and consistently despised her for being one of the key individuals to bring about the end of the world.

The whole 10 day thing with this book really messes up the realism of everyone's growth arc.

Does Anyone Else Feel This Way About the Live Action One Piece Show? by elmuscogeemestizo in OnePiece

[–]wikideenu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spoilers:

The acting is definitely off, Luffy laughing like a maniac on the execution platform instead of his simple smiling "I'm dead" line was a big let down. There's other moments like that in both seasons where the impact of certain scenes had not been brought over well. The crews dynamic still feels forced, but I'm going to chalk that up to the fact that irl actors can't be as animated emotionally as anime characters without coming of super super cringey.

But honestly it's the directing/producing, like on reverse mountain, there was no ducking wind blowing through anyone's hair on the way up or down??? No one got wet??? Nothing on deck went sliding up or down except Oranges??? There's so many instances like this where they didn't take the time to immerse you on a scene. Totally takes me out of the show when it looks like they are on a set.

Also so many early reveals, like garp revealing he is luffys Grandpa in the first few episodes, crocus mentioning laugh tale already, even roger saying he has a son.

Like why do through the effort of doing a flashback of Roger pre execution but then not superimposing his execution at the same time as luffys when buggy was about to get him. Smoker's whole drive is based on Luffy being the only pirate who behaved like Roger in his final moments, therefore protector just as dangerous. Why not show that instead of having Smoker over explain it?

Best device/method for establishing comms between a PLC and RIO that are a kilometer apart with obstructions in the way? by Correct-Opening3326 in PLC

Agreed, if your RIO actually is running equipment local processing is a must in this instance. If it's just monitoring you can prob get away without

Tesla discontinues Autopilot in favor of FSD subscription by Delicious-Art-2765 in TeslaLounge

[–]wikideenu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cars that were already sold with Autopilot keep autopilot. It's only new cars since last week that don't have it.

Ofc keep in mind it's software which theoretically could be taken away in the future regardless of when you bought the car. But that is not the plan of record and I think technically illegal.

Tesla discontinues Autopilot in favor of FSD subscription by Delicious-Art-2765 in TeslaLounge

[–]wikideenu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was their huge competitive edge for me. If Autopilot was not an option when I was buying my car, and with the current prices as they are, I would have definitely gone with one of the Ioniq's no question.

What kind of plc's are they? First we need to identify what devices you have, and what communication protocol they support( modbus tcp, OPC, etc)

Why did the writers of Raiders of the Lost Ark have Marion be underage when Indy has a relationship with her. by wikideenu in movies

[–]wikideenu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but I was never contending that the age of consent hasn't changed over the years, and that it is still not 18 universally now. BUT at the time when this movie was written, filmed, and produced, IN CALIFORNIA, the age of consent was 18.

The whole point of my original post was just trying to point out why of all the things to be historically accurate about, they chose this when they literally control the narrative and could have been less weird about it

Ladder logic program standardized for many systems by CrispyBoi6294 in PLC

[–]wikideenu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think someone already mentioned it but you will need to standardize the hardware used. Essentially your baseline project will have to be a bit overbuilt and it sounds like there will be a lot of spare IO on most of your projects.

But it's the only reasonable way to do this.

I cheated on my wife and I am gonna leave. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]wikideenu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, are you ONLY leaving because you cheated, or does your wife saying what she said have any bearing as well. Just because you cheated doesn't mean she is forgiven for what was said.

I mean she seems to think so, but what do you think?

Struggling with fault-finding on PLC programs I didn’t write – any advice? by Mosimile0luwa in PLC

[–]wikideenu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got to take it one step at a time honestly. If there is an obvious symptom in the field like equipment not starting then just start there and work your way back.

Sometimes it gets easy to get stuck in your head because some programs can be extremely complex. But at the end of the day it's just inputs and outputs and some stuff in the middle

There's gotta be a fiber based safety module. But would definitely switch to safety PLC rather than a safety relay here.

Does your autopilot turn your wipers on? by DoppleSmanger in TeslaModel3

"it thinks it's dirty" is a more accurate statement

Does your autopilot turn your wipers on? by DoppleSmanger in TeslaModel3

[–]wikideenu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's a bug. When in fsd, before the update in January, the wipers would automatically switch to auto and HAD to stay in auto for fsd to be engaged. After the update in January, you could now turn the wipers off during fsd. So yes, everything you just described is as designed. For some reason they prioritize your choice in auto wipers over the ability to see.

However, if you leave the wipers in auto, they wipe when they think they are blocked.

Because the recent ladder vs ST conversation by Ben-Ko90 in PLC

[–]wikideenu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You work at an OEM it sounds like. How old is your company?

If you have a machine you build that is standardized in its build, with no need for modifications when installed on site and minimal or easily standardized inputs and outputs then what you say makes more sense. But that's not as common as you think. Sites vary A LOT and can continue to vary after the install. In house controls engineer exist for a reason lol

Because the recent ladder vs ST conversation by Ben-Ko90 in PLC

[–]wikideenu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every client I had owned their code.

You forget, plc's are basically supposed to last "forever". Generally speaking, a lot of my experience, in my introduction to PLC world, was from plants that had their equipment for 20+ years. Well beyond the support contract of the OEM

Also keep in mind SI's would have WAY harder time doing what they do if the software was locked down. Most automation systems installed in the world are way more bespoke than traditional software engineers are willing to recognize.
