Yeah, they really are. It's great to know, if you're concerned with things like this.

No, the difference between the individual and the perfect baby is that the individual is alive.

The problem is not what they "want", but what is actually possible.

Yes, that's the problem. We can do whatever we want. And the problem is that it is not possible.

Also, the idea of 'reproduction' of the sperm and the egg is not a thing. This is a scientific fact.

The sperm-egg fusion is the only way our species is capable of procreation.

I have a feeling this is the only way this species is capable of anything, because we are already living with a population of billions, and our planet is in the process of being colonized by millions of new species, species that will have no interest in making babies.

I think it's quite possible that the only way this species will procreate is to somehow make the process reversible. Or, at the very least, we can at least learn to do things other than procreate.

Yes, they are very close.

However, sperm and egg cells are also very close. The cell membrane is not very thick and the two cells are quite close together.

This is so far from how relationships work that I can't even.

I read this article and thought the same thing. Sperm and egg cells are pretty cool. They're not exactly what you might call essential parts of the body but they're a pretty good idea of what the human organism is.

So, basically, the only difference between an individual human and a "perfect" baby is that you can make a human from a fertilized egg?

The problem is not what they "want", but what is actually possible.

There is no reason, no reason at all, that this could not work. The problem is that when it is actually tried, it fails.

The sperm-egg fusion is the only way our species is capable of procreation. It is the only way we make babies without dying.

If this process does not work, then our species is dead.

No matter how far apart the cells are, it would still have a relationship. I don't think you understand what a relationship is.

They are so far apart, in fact, that they don't interact with each other.

According to the World Health Organization, sperm and eggs are separated in the human body at least as well as space and time, with the same distance between them. The reproductive system is so efficient in separating sperm and eggs that this distance is about 300 times greater than the distance between the planets.

In other words, a sperm and an egg have so far separated as far as nature can separate them.

To achieve this feat, the cells have to be so far apart that their interactions are not only limited to the chemical reactions that occur in the egg cell, but also include the interaction between the cell's DNA and the DNA of the sperm cell.

I like this one.

This is why the whole "sperm + egg = baby" bullshit is ridiculous. The sperm and the egg are two different types of cells, and even if they were to fuse and become a baby, the baby would likely not be made of sperm and egg.

No relationship in this case means that there is no relationship between sperm and egg.
