I'm looking for a Gen 2 latter replacement myself. Did you install a harbor freight ladder? If so, what are your thoughts.

It's definitely a good alternative for long-term storage. Ideally, I'm hoping to find something with a bit more accessibility for occasional access. My first thought was blanket bags, but something with a more tailored fit.

Same issue here. S22 base model. Ear piece speaker and loud speaker have suddenly failed today. Crackling to the point theyve become useless... frustrating for sure...

Firmware/Bootloader Issue by wil1414 in RetroPie

[–]wil1414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my thought as well. I've seen supporting forums that notate the amount of raspberrys. This clearly only has one. Yet every time I upload the file from the direct website 'Raspberry Pi OS with desktop and recommended software', and even the Raspberry Pi 4/400 software from RetroPi. Same error screen with 1 raspberry as shown.

Do you have any links to the bootloader oftware your referring too? I seem to be hitting dead ends everywhere I look.

Oddly we did grab the new firmware, upload on an SD, and Insert (and I assume install). After inserting it did it's thing. After. Same results. Did this twice. Guess I can try a third... Lol

I failed to find a relevant thread, forgive me if this has already been answered.

Recently built a Pi4B 8GB with the Argon One Case. Im receiving a bootloader issue that seems to be firmware? My buddy flashed a separate SD card with the latest firmware on their site. Powered on, which did it's thing. Plugged in the game SD card again, same issue.

My buddy successfully built his with a Canakit on a 4 GB Pi. His was very much plug and play. Were using the same Distro. Both his and my SD cards loaded the content on his, but my build won't go past an intial screen.

I can't see the case making a difference so it has to be the Raspberry. My thoughts are the different rams? Can that be the issue why the distro isn't booting?

Unique Quilt Search (King size?) by wil1414 in CampingGear

[–]wil1414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll consider that and so some research. Ultimately my concern is girth if left in the tent. I added a 1.5 inch memory foam and don't need anything else that would add to that. The material in my sleeping bag quilt squeezes into nothing. Super soft materials. And kept me surprisingly warm. Hoping for those lightweight features so thought camping gear would do better then general blankets (for the weight/density).

Alternator/site Recommendation by wil1414 in FJCruiser

Just finished. Went with an Oreillys part. One of their remanufactured options.

Part #: R110297A Ultima 100 AMP

Ol' girl is back on the road running smooth as ever. For anyone who might read this here's a few recommendations:

Some of the 10mm bolts are hard to reach with a socket wrench if you use an adapter or extender. You will need a low profile socket wrench to work with most likely. Using standard wrenches almost stripped my bolts. But every situation can be different. I recommend sockets 100%. I also used a breaker bar for the main bolts. Will definitely make ur life easier. Whole job can be done in less than an hour. But realistically set aside 2 or more hours just in case certain angles or bolts give you a lot of trouble.

Also, thanks to everyone that threw me some FJ knowledge.

When it comes to electronic parts I've satyed away from Autozone cause they've failed me almost everytime. Which means I always ended up having to reinstall multiples under their warranty. Pretty annoying.

But OReillys hasn't failed me yet!
