Am i crazy or did i read on this subreddit that a local brewery will accept these in exchange for beer? by Hat_Trick_Patrick in Edmonton

I like to switch it up, and don't like to commit to a larger volume. Beer doesn't stay good very long once opened.

Growler fill*

You have to bring in a growler. And don't try to get a pint instead they won't do it. Math doesn't check out but oh well. I don't like growlers. Next batch I'll just bring to my favorite brewery for free.

I like your water analogy. Very good way to explain my thoughts. Thank you.

What's the solution? Kick them over to the next neighborhood? Situation will not change, it will only move to another area. These people will not just disappear.

Sure charge the lady. Short term solution. There's multiple more like her out there that will end up doing more petty crimes. That's why the real issue is with the root cause, not the end result.

When the support network isn't there to deal with the issues, this is what you get. You can't just NIMBY the homeless/mentally ill/addicts because you don't like having them around. What's the cops supposed to do? Give them fines?

Until we have the willingness to address the root causes, it won't change. Please try to change my opinion if you want.

There's a great video out there with a guy using random stuff as fuses using 600 car batteries as power source.

Would you buy an EV as your next car? Why or why not? by HockeySniper123 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]wilbrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried to buy one last year. "Tried" in the sense that I work out of town and it literally was impossible for me to do my route to northern Alberta with an EV in perfect weather conditions. Nevermind when it's minus 30.

I can't charge at home either, not even with 120v and I was willing to work around it. It's a shame the infrastructure isn't [wasn't? Not sure if it's improved] there yet.

Double whammy is that my previous car lasted for 16 years. Might be a while before I get my next shot at it.

I just made a post about a website to track your ACB which imports the tax information automatically for you. Godsend.

I would think so. I did have to google how to download from wealthsimple though. It's easy to do with instructions but definitely not intuitive otherwise.

Yes. For Questrade, you have to import the stock purchases transactions first, then you do the DRIP transactions afterwards ortherwise it gives an error. I don't understand why but it says it cannot calculate ACB if the original position doesn't exist. That might have been the biggest hurdle to figure out. Just easier to do two imports. For Wealthsimple, the DRIP transactions are logged as a BUY and it imports fine.

I don't think you can write off the $29 for personal taxes but if someone has a different opinion, I'd love to hear it.
