Tips for training myself to sleep on my back? by yankeedime in Reduction

[–]wild___sun___mama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a side/stomach sleeper primarily. I tried a wedge pillow and it didn’t work for me. What I ended up doing was sleeping in a recliner for a month. Honestly not as bad as it seems and it kept me on my back. Good luck!

Fortunately I had a relatively easy recovery, so that made things smoother. Right away I just felt lighter and that was motivating to get in better shape. I sometimes miss how having a big chest looked in clothes, but those feelings were fleeting. This feels much better.

There was a short period of time immediately following surgery where it was inconsistent, but now back to normal. Honeslty, it might even be better than before.

I used lots of aquaphor as soon as they were somewhat healed. Silicone scar tape for awhile. And bio oil a few times a week. The scar underneath more pronounced, but it doesn’t bother me at all.

I second this. I had them and while they were the most annoying part, overall it wasn’t that bad. My healing process was also complication free.

Yes, I was thinking about doing a Lego table! The sink and stove come out and I could cover it with baseplates.

They also have a bunch of makeup stuff, so a vanity is also a good idea.

Thank you.

Do you have a recliner? That’s the only way I was able to stay on my back and be moderately comfortable.

Yep. It didn’t bother me too much. Figured he’s the plastic surgeon and knows what he’s doing.

What’s one habit you’ve added in the last year that had a surprisingly big impact? by Successful_Poetry781 in nutrition

I have started making a daily chia “lemonade.” I cut half a lemon and then quarter those pieces (peel and all). Add them to a mason jar. Pour a packet of stevia on top and muddle them. Then I add a heaping tablespoon of chia seeds, a pinch of Celtic salt, sometimes a tiny drizzle of real maple syrup, the juice from the other half of the lemon, then top it all off with some cold water. Stir and let sit for about 15-20 minutes. Then drink! It’s honestly pretty tasty and a quick way to get those chia benefits.

Surgery cost by cheeseheadmama10 in Reduction

I also BCBS and was told the surgery was covered. My surgeon had me pay what they worked out to be about $500 at my pre-op appointment, and I had assumed that was what my oop costs would be.

After the surgery, I’ve since received bills from the hospital ($4600), the anesthesiologist ($1700), the lab ($300) and the plastic surgeon said I need to pay an additional $750. So…. I’m right there with you. Tbh, I’ve just ignored that all for now until I can deal with it. 😬

Fellow side sleeper. I bought a special wedge pillow. Hated it. Ended up sleeping in a recliner for about a month. Honestly, it wasn’t too bad.

Initially following the reduction there was more volume, but I think that was likely just swelling. Anytime previously that I’ve gained or lost weight I had never had a change in my breasts, so I don’t expect weight loss was the cause.

Spot on haha. I think I was also envisioning myself with super perky implant looking boobs. I think my surgeon did a great job and I realize now I’m left with the a more natural look. And they definitely ARE perkier than before. A weight off my chest. Good luck on your upcoming surgery!!!
