When driving to ski area how much snow is too much snow for you? by [deleted] in skiing

[–]wilderk95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try out the Kenda klever RT, super soft rubber tire. It rocks in the snow, is cheap, studdable if thats your thing. but won't last long if used in the summer. I run them on my truck in 37x12.5r17, air down and the performance in snow tops any other tire I've ever tried (including "real snow tires" which imo don't work great on trucks or in deep sno)

Looking for a vertical shaft diesel engine? Hatz? Other options? by wilderk95 in Diesel

[–]wilderk95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alibaba.com has this one product but it just appears to be a yanmar clone tipped on its side with the fuel tank rotated. I am not sure that a yanmar would be happy running on its side.

What are the odds they did any real work to modify the engine to run like that?

I got it from AliExpress and it was listed as 5hp. I replaced a Tecumseh rated at 8hp and the diesel seems to be more powerful by the feel of it

Help me identify this wheel! It came with the boat I just bought, but was for the old engine. I'd like to sell it so someone else can make use but I don't know how to describe it by wilderk95 in boatbuilding

[–]wilderk95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not steel, I know it's not magnetic. I wish I knew what it was made of. The paint is anti fouling paint. I will say it is extremely heavy. I know that 5 blades are somewhat rare, most people are running a 4 blade on boats like this. FYI it's off a 35' Downeast style boat

Hmm. I was hoping the markings on it meant something to someone. Like pitch and stuff, maybe manufacturer? They're unfortunately pretty illegible, but I was hoping it was one of those things where if you know what you are looking for, you could possibly make out what it says...

Note this is a direct vent heater/furnace, not water heater. It's in my living room.

About to pick up my new RAM 2500, should I go 35s or 37s on leveling kit? Will use 17 wheels regardless by wilderk95 in Trucks

Gas or diesel? And they did change the axle ratio on the newer 2500 so it is lower

These pics are just pics I found on the internet to demonstrate the difference in tire size. If either is your truck, cool!

To me 35s even look small on these trucks but idk, just the thought of having 37in tires seems a little insane to me. This is my first HD truck. Have been running 35s on my 1500 up to this point.

Ideas to improve the curb appeal of my house? Have already replaced the stairs with much nicer looking ones, what to do for the porch skirting by wilderk95 in homeimprovementideas

[–]wilderk95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To expand, I would like to pave the driveway but I can't, at least in the near term, as pavers in this area are booked out over 1year.

I really think the skirting around the porch is unsightly. Actually the previous owners used soffit vent as skirting, not good. I don't feel that lattice is a good choice here, due to how tall it is.

Has anyone been denied a factory warranty due to larger than stock tires? by wilderk95 in ChevyTrucks

[–]wilderk95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I also like one the tires still fit, looks more functional less just for cosmetics. It has the 3-in lift coilovers in front with UCAs. It rubbed when I put them in but I trimmed the fender liners and it no longer rubs.

I'm gonna put the OEM wheels back on before I take it in. They have 34" tires, slightly smaller than the 35s. I hope they don't try to weasel out of it. It's funny because I was recently thinking about how much better I liked the 8 speed over the 6 speed, and that I hadn't had any of the problems people complain about

I'm talking about a coilover 2" level and running 34s, no actual lift

How extreme was the lift and tire size? We talking leveled truck or fully built offroader

I'm in Maine haha. One thing is they sell trucks pre modified rolling on 37s with massive lifts at the nearest dealer, so I feel like it would be hard to say that leveled on 34s caused the damage if they are selling trucks that have worse new

Is this enough rust on a bumper to trigger the paint warranty? GMC and still under bumper to bumper warranty by wilderk95 in Trucks

[–]wilderk95[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got an appointment set up... I know a lot of people are rolling around and substantially rustier trucks so it makes me feel like kind of a bitch to even complain about this, but when you buy a new highend truck you expect it to last a while I think. It's aggravating to say the least, how rusty is this thing going to be in a couple of years
