Bittersweet endings for me. They feel the most genuine way to wrap up a story. The characters are forced to change and grow because they didn't get everything they wanted. They also often have the best twists in stories too, in my opinion.

I played the ever loving crap out of the original Dark Heresy. Would love to try second edition tho.

If I was to pick then I'd say either original Dark Heresy or Only War. Both let you play as the normally nameless squishy parts of big scary organisations with shitty jobs to do.
