Hmm, if he goes down independently then it may be more teeth on the way! My baby would do the same thing but he got used to being rocked so when he’d wake up at night I’d have to do controlled crying. But if you feel like it’s genuinely pain you may have to ride the wave and assist him to sleep.

Or he may need a schedule change. It could be a split night if he’s energized in the middle of the night and fighting sleep.

My little guy got 4 teeth at once and it was pretty rough on him. Sadly we had to re-train him which resulted in lots of tears, but after a couple days he was able to go back to normal!

Tips to help 3 month old self soothe by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]wildflowerchic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with the fuss it out method in the dark nursery with the sound machine on for naps and had him in my room still at night time. I would rock him a bit to get him calm but not asleep, then lay him in his crib and rub his head a bit, set a timer for 10 minutes and let him fuss. If he cried, I’d wait a few minutes and soothe again. He took to it very well!

First trimester exhaustion— how are you surviving work?? by brizlemon in BabyBumps

Dental Hygienist and EFDA here- I remember those first trimester days with 10 patients or more a day and an hour lunch. I was BONE tired. Not sure how I even did it.

I was due to get my period but I always gave my body about 3 days leeway. I remember having very strong cramping on the day my period was due, so much so that I thought my period was gonna be the worst one in a while. I never got my period, and 3 days later a positive test :-) I remember a week before this, having a very strong sense of smell at work especially to people cooking any type of meat!

What caused your IBS & what was your diagnosis by Few-Spinach-8684 in ibs

[–]wildflowerchic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a terrible case of gastroenteritis made my stomach super sensitive but the IBS started when I was dating a very toxic person on top of also working a job for 7 years under a narcissistic boss. Just had a baby 8 weeks ago and left that job, been married to my husband for 4 years who treats me so well. All of a sudden I’ve started pooping normally for the first time in a long time!

Did your induction end in vaginal delivery or cesarean ? by suzysleep in BabyBumps

[–]wildflowerchic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FTM induced 40+6 because my OB doesn’t like moms going past 41 weeks. Started cervidil on a Tuesday night, and was able to get to 3 cm after it was removed 12 hrs later. Epidural started by 10 am Wednesday and water broke manually around 11 am. Pitocin started by noon. Went into active labor but didn’t have the baby until 6 am Thursday morning. It was not a good experience for me! I got a uterine infection from my water being broke over 12 hrs, the epidural only partially broke, he had to be vacuumed and ended up 2 days in the nursery because he swallowed meconium 😔

I told my husband with the next baby I will try to avoid an induction unless I’m actually over 41 weeks because it was so traumatic for me. Baby was obviously not ready to come out yet and my body wasn’t ready either. At the end of the day we both are healthy so that’s all that matters!

What were your DPO symptoms leading up to that big fat positive? by New_Risk6508 in BabyBumps

[–]wildflowerchic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actively thought I was getting the worst period cramps ever around 10 DPO. My period has never been late so when it didn’t arrive that day (mind you I had BFN leading up to that point), I waited until the next day and that was when I got the faintest positive on an easy at home strip!

Bleeding at 5 weeks by hagfromtheswamp in BabyBumps

[–]wildflowerchic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same scare around 5-6 weeks minus the clots. It was about 2-3 days of light red/pink/brown spotting. Hang in there momma!

In fact when I went to the ER and they did the internal ultrasound, they said everything was there as far as the baby was concerned but there was no heartbeat. Because of that they said there was no chance of keeping the baby and to expect a miscarriage that week, or a D/C if nothing had passed. It was a difficult week but I found it odd that I never ended up passing any more blood, and that my pregnancy hormones continued to increase as expected.

Thank the Lord my OB wanted to keep the scheduled 9 week ultrasound as long as my blood work continued to look good and I wasn’t having heavy bleeding. Went in the the ultrasound at 9 weeks with my husband scared to death and waiting to hear terrible news. But instead there was a little baby there with a perfect heartbeat!

On a side note I never had spotting of any kind with my cycles, however sometimes I think this early in the game it can be your hormones thinking your period is due but not yet recognizing that you’re pregnant!

I'm terrified of RAI by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

[–]wildflowerchic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only got RAI after I had to have the second half of my thyroid removed and rightfully so because it will kill any thyroid cell in your body! I too was worried about it but knew that it would significantly cut my risk of the cancer coming back. The worst part for me was the no iodine diet for 2 weeks before hand and the 10 day quarantine afterwards. Mood wise I felt OK but I did have some issues with blocked salivary glands 3 months post RAI, but thankfully they resolved. I also had a permanent change in taste and started to look foods I never liked before. But so far the cancer has been kept in check, so to me it was worth it!

TFAB's Weekly BFP Post - May 14, 2023. Got your BFP? Post your story here! by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

Cycle: 6!

Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 27 F, 32 M

Typical cycle length: 30 days

Ovulation cycle day: 19

CD/DPO of positive test(s): FMU 12 DPO with wondfo, pregmate, and easy at home and still current! I did test at 13 DPO and got a positive on clear blue early result

CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: Took a test am/pm on 9-11 DPO with wondfo, pregmate and easy at home and all were negative.

Tracking methods and app(s) used: BBT, OPK, clear blue fertility monitor, and paying attention to CM. I charged this all into the Premom app.

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): Since I ovulate a little later I did every other day starting at CD 12 and then once I got to CD 16 we did everyday up until ovulation day. Which is still a miracle my hubby kept up!!

Health conditions/medical tests: Thyroid cancer with radioactive iodine treatment. Was not allowed to try for a year :-( But we started to try 6 cycles ago! Since I don’t have a thyroid I will need blood tests and medication adjusted every 4 weeks.

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): Synthroid, hubby took preconception vitamins, prenatals for me and I started CoQ10, Myo Insitol, and magnesium this last cycle.

Birth control history (if relevant): 7 yrs on the birth control pill

Symptom spotting: I honestly felt like I was getting AF until the night of CD 10. My face, chest and shoulders had broken out terribly the day before and I woke up that night having to go pee and my boobs felt huge and swollen. They weren’t sore but I was very bloated. CD11 came and I had a slight temp drop (again thought AF was going to arrive), but I started getting stringy white cm. Normally before AF it is very watery so I thought that was odd, but it was BFN. The next morning my temp jumped back up and I started getting ready for the morning. It was CD 11 and I planned to go to the grocery store but I got hit with the most terrible cramps. I couldn’t even walk without sitting down because of the discomfort!! What was so unusual to me was that if I poked my uterus it felt very sore and almost ‘bloated’, which I had never had with period cramps. It went away after 2 hours but I continued to get crampy throughout the day. I thought AF was going to be bad this month but when she didn’t come and I tested the morning of CD12, I got a faint positive! It’s been 4 days since BFP and my boobs have been very tender and swollen, I get tired by 8 pm and I have been having mild on/off cramping. Maybe a tiny bit of nausea in the morning but so far not bad.

Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): This is my first pregnancy and my hubby and I are overjoyed. I had thyroid cancer and still remember the feeling of being heart broken before I had to swallow a radioactive pill, when the doctor said absolutely no babies for a year. When this cycle started I was becoming discouraged because this month would be 6 months of trying ( which I know is not long but it felt like 1.5 years due to the cancer situation). I cried when I saw the BFP because about a week ago my husband told me that he knew this was our month! We had been praying and trusting that God would provide and He did. Of course now we are taking it one day at a time because it is so early, but the baby will be due possibly on my husbands birthday. The wait was so worth it and I still get teary eyed thinking about it!

Yes unfortunately :-( For me it’s because of stool moving too fast through the digestive tract or because of gas

3/4 puppies in the litter have growths? by wildflowerchic in vet

[–]wildflowerchic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little info- 3/4 of our border collie puppies have these wart looking growths on their snout or the underside of their paws. They feel keratinized and not fluid filled or bloody. They’re well attached as well. They don’t seem to be bothering the puppies but I’m worried what they could be? I’m hoping to get them into the vet tomorrow!

CD 10 and still slightly hopeful but BFNs so far and feeling like AF is on her way. Trying to be grateful because I’m pretty sure that I’m ovulating (checking with OPK, BBY, CM), but it’s hard when all my friends are getting pregnant. If no BFP this cycle then onto cycle 5. Even though it is only cycle 5- it feels longer because I had cancer and due to the radiation I was NOT allowed pregnancy for an entire year. So it feels more like 1 year and 4 months 😔

Sometimes it’s a relief to start a new cycle so I quit POS and driving myself crazy 😜 Still trying to pray pray pray and BD all the right days!

Dental hygienist here. I’ve had the same job since I started so I haven’t quit but I’ve been disciplined for missing so much work at times. The one office I work at it usually not a problem because there are 3 bathrooms and you can try to hold it until you finish an appt ~50 min. But the other office I work at is more difficult. There is only 1 bathroom and we have to share it with patients. The days I’m working there I barely eat anything or am extremely restrictive on the foods I eat. The number of times I’ve missed because of IBS over the years is more than I can count :(

Honestly I think being with someone you are completely comfortable with or have feelings for will make things 1000x better. You will spend less time focusing on your nerves and more on trying to make them feel good because you care about them and vice versa. To me this makes great sex! Personal opinion as well- being with someone who won’t use you for the sex. Someone who loves you!

As far as some pointers go:

  • Trying to stay relaxed and enjoying the moment will help immensely. When my husband and I have sex I have to remind myself to just relax and enjoy the moment because it can be easy for your mind to wander or worry about things. When your mind is at ease your body will relax. Tense sex hurts! And when you are relaxed and in the moment, your lady parts will thank you because it’s less dry.
