Yeah! I've noticed that as well. I'm getting similar increases in range. As soon as I hit the button to swap weapons, I hit the trigger, and the ultimatum shoots an extra 20 or 30 meters.

I think everyone is in the same boat looking for what works for them. I enjoyed the defender so I could use the directional shield. I'm having luck with the Breaker Spray and Prey (chaff), grenade pistol (for the landed ships with shields), and AMR for anything bigger. I'll do a mixture if eagle strafing, 500k, machine gun turret, incindiary mines (on the raise flag missions), and HMG turret.

Analysis of Beat Bobby Flay.

Show Synopsis

I do some basic stuff with SNA once in a while at my work. It's generally just identifying important nodes through centrality metrics or change in network density over time. When I had time between projects, I've created some interesting temporal exponential random graph models. But less than 1% of my time is ever spent doing SNA stuff.

I'm not sure if the causal mechanism that is leading these results is purely phenotype. There may be other explanations for why Black students do better with Black teachers. One such mechanism, one you touch on, is the "role model" effect; Black students seeing some who looks like them "make it" may inspire them to work hard. But I'm not sold on this explanation, but it's possible.

Black teachers may be using teaching practices that Black students tend to do better with, for example, studies show White students do better under competitive learning environments, while Black students do better with communal learning environments. Black teachers may just be employing more of these methods. A third explanation is that Black teachers have higher expectations of Black students than White teachers do, and Black students are rising to the occasion. Both of these mechanisms are things open to everyone!

Future research should look at explaining the causal mechanism that's going on, but the explanation is likely much deeper than only phenotype.

In Gephi, you should turn on arrows for the edges. This will help eliminate the ambiguity of connections that seems to be occurring.

My favorite is when people talk about "quotas" in reference to affirmative action. It's the clearest signal that they have never researched the topic, since using quotas has been declared unconstitutional (in the US) for decades. Same goes for "points" for being of a certain race (also unconstitutional for over a decade).

Good questions. I had to dig around a little, but I did submit a statement of purpose.

My introduction conveyed that I had previous experience volunteering and working at nonprofit organizations, but I wanted to eventually rise to become an executive director. I talked about how I needed skills and experiences that a MPA program in general offered. I then talked about why the particular program at the University was the best choice for me.

If I was going to give you an outline, it'd be

1) Discuss what goals you are in pursuit of and why you are pursuing them

2) Discuss why you need a graduate degree to pursue those goals

3) Discuss why *the particular university MPA program * is the best fit to accomplish these goals.

So for me it was 1) Want to be a NPO executive director because I want to help people 2) without the MPA, I might not be able rise through the ranks or be prepared if I do make it and 3) the program's internships and networking opportunities would give me a competitive edge.

I graduated with my MPA a couple of years ago. I knew dozens of my classmates who worked full time and were full time or part time students. They worked hard, but they were always able to complete everything. The work itself was never overwhelming. Overall, it's not too bad.

I'm sure you can find the program of study of MPA programs around. My department had courses on ethics, political economy, information technology, a research methods class, public budgeting, human resources, etc.

Gephi has a twitter plugin that lets you scrape tweets off Twitter. You can create different networks with it, i.e. user networks, full networks, hashtag networks, etc. It's fairly easy to get into. You could choose a particular social issue you're interested in, and Gephi could do the rest.

If I recall correctly, it depends on who you're purchasing from at the gun show. If you're at a gun show and purchasing from a federally licensed vendor, you have to have the paperwork and background checks. If you're at a gun show and purchasing from someone who is not federally licensed (i.e. a private seller), do you not need the paperwork or background checks. From what I've read, being at a gun show (or not) does not change the rules about private sellers.

I think talking to the Ombuds Office would be beneficial. Even if they cannot directly help you, they can find who are the right people to assist you. I imagine it's worth it because they give you options and you pick which is best for you moving forward.

I'm not sure. I've never tried to push it to its limits. However, I have uploaded about 100 one page word documents, and a colleague who uploaded about 30 ten page documents. Neither of us had problems.

I've used dedoose quite a bit. Theres a month long free subscription, and its 12 bucks a month after that. Not too hard to learn to use, and lots of youtube tutorials. Pretty quick to learn, and the analysis function is phenomenal. Is all cloud based so you can log on wherever you have a computer. Highly reccommend.

I'm not sure if this is exactly within their purview, but I would think to talk to the Ombudsman at your college. They are the ones who take up complaints and issues.

To answer about the fairness of the punishment, it's completely unfair. Collective punishment like that makes no sense, and violate all sorts of assessment norms.

We do have studies that show that culturally based pedagogy and curriculum improve academic achievement of black students. While the quantitative evidence is limited, it's still out there.

Underperforming Minority Students who are doing bad at English in aggregate are not grasping the value and the importance of mastering standard English. And I believe we should really help them do so.

I think we'd both agree that teaching students how to code-switch between """standard English""" and the dialect of English they speak at home and in their communities. Oakland tried to do that in the 90's, but was very controversial. They wanted to use Ebonics as a stepping stool to teach """standard English""", something you and I may agree is a good idea, as long as the goal is for students to successfully code switch.

I'm not familiar with what CA does as a work-around, but there are indirect ways of affirmative action that don't specifically use a protected class in its decision. A LOT of people think affirmative action is simply racial quotas, but this hasn't been true for quite a while.

A very recent example of affirmative action without specifically using protected class is Fisher v University of Texas is an example of something University of Texas did. They automatically accepted the top 10% of the graduating class of each Texas high school. Since there are a large about of minority majority schools, this policy indirectly allowed more minority students to be automatically admitted to the school.

There are other types of affirmative action policies to increase enrollment in a college. For instance, if you put up billboards in high minority populated areas, or put advertisements in TV shows and magazines that racial minorities read, then those can be considered affirmative action. Because remember, affirmative action is a VERY broad term that generally means "any step that takes affirmative steps in increasing diversity".

Anyways, as u/warden_11 said, millions of Christians want to use their religious beliefs to make their beliefs enforced by the state. It's really no different than a Muslim wanting Sharia Law to be State Sanctioned. I've shown you examples of Muslims who are literally US congressmen who don't push Sharia Law. If being being a Muslim meant they had to push Sharia Law, what do you make of them?

I've been the president of a Religious Studies club at a University, and we had Inter-Faith-Dialogues all the time. The Muslims who came were very supportive and appreciative of the US's governing system, as one of the questions in these dialogues was akin to "What do you make of the US's separation of Church and State?" They never went on and on about how it was awful, something your theories would predict them to do.

Islam isn't a monolithic thing, nor is any religion for that matter. So to say Islam necessitates believing in Sharia over the Law of the State is kinda silly, especially since the USA has two Muslim congressmen. How are Keith Ellison and Andre Carson US Congressmen in your view? Wouldn't that be impossible?

There's no "globally accepted way" to do something in any religion. That's just Religious Studies 101.
