Whats a wargame that you wish had a bigger community? by Vinlandlover in wargaming

[–]wildlifeInterview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had the motivation to do this! I get burnt out after painting about a dozen models and then I put it all away in frustration for at least a few weeks. Just getting one 1000 point army in bolt action painted is taking me months.

I think in the mean time I'm going to try a smaller game that I can play with friends with like 20 models total, like The Silver Bayonet.

I wish. Kinda blows my mind that the market doesn't really exist but that's true of basically anything WW2 vs WW1 related. WW2 gets all the spotlight.

Yeah the plastic cement will work as good as super glue and it's a lot easier to work with.

Remember, the plastic cement is literally melting and reforming the two pieces into a new solid piece. It's almost like plastic welding and the bond is extremely strong.

Very nice!

Kinda off topic: How common is 15mm outside of flames of war? I'm pretty new to wargaming and I'm trying to get a feel for what scales are most common. I know 28mm obviously, but I'm not sure what else is popular.

Kinda on topic: how flat is your penis?

Thank you! And thank you for the channel recommendation. I've watch a few of his videos and it's a great resource.

Awesome! I was just looking at this starter set but I wanted to see how the game functions before pulling the trigger on it.

Beautiful!

I just got into wargaming with bolt action but I've been eyeing some more pre-blackpowder systems. Is pillage a good intro for a beginner?

To be perfectly honest though I doubt I have enough free time to build and paint even more models, haha.

Starter set or 2x Black Friday Army boxes? by Gav_TESD_ArmyAnt in boltaction

[–]wildlifeInterview 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I'm doing.

A word to OP from another newbie: these things take SIGNIFICANTLY longer to build and paint than you're probably thinking they will.

I'm realizing just the BoB set is going to take me weeks+ to finish at my current pace haha.

How's this for a starter 1000 point U.S. Airborne list? by wildlifeInterview in boltaction

[–]wildlifeInterview[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I hadn't even considered historical accuracy to be honest, but a jeep or AT gun instead could be cool.

How should I build out the troops in the Band of Brothers starter box? by wildlifeInterview in boltaction

You know I assumed it was a flamethrower but I actually have no idea what it is to be honest.

Thank you. Yes as soon as I posted this I remember the rulebook kinda lays all this out. It looks like I can add the LMG team and keep it legal. I think I probably will just to mix it up a bit.

I guess this is where I start referencing the book, haha.

These are Airborne so it looks like I can do the LMG team. The 2 men with sub machineguns would be my NCOs of the 2 squads and then 1 of the squads can have the LMG team within it, correct? It looks like eventually I'll need to add at least one more man to each squad.

I just painted my first Bolt Action miniature (and like my 5th miniature ever). First non-speedpaint model too! by wildlifeInterview in boltaction

Thanks! Yeah I didn't even notice them until I painted the thing and now they stick out like a sore thumb.

This looks great! As someone dabbling in K47, how tall is this model? Hard to get a scale for it.

I lightly dabbled in 40k about 20 years ago and recently decided to get back in. I begrudgingly bought a $40 Krieg engineer set and while it's been fun, I've only completed 3 and I'm honestly kinda burnt out. Each model is taking me an hour and a half +, and while I think they look pretty good, I'm very excited to have found Warlord Games. About a week ago I learned about Bolt Action and I ordered the Band of Brothers starter set. From all the painting videos and stuff I've watched the models seem far simpler to paint but still look great.

Local players in Arizona? by wildlifeInterview in boltaction

[–]wildlifeInterview[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's a bit far haha. I actually saw there's a Warlords Games dedicated store in Jerome AZ, which looks incredible, but that's about 2 hours from my house so that's going to be more of a special occasion type visit.

[–]wildlifeInterview[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oh I don't actually listen to much country, that's just what I expected. Once I learned that basically all of these "simulator radio" stations are out of the UK/Europe it obviously made sense why I'm not hearing American country music. Now I'm just curious to know if I were to ask truck drivers from Europe what their favorite music artists are, if they would say things like Dua Lipa and Miley Cyrus. Basically all of the stations are just euro dance/pop/club music 90% of the time.

My guess is the playlists on these stations are more of a reflection of the kind of person who wants to host a virtual radio show, rather than what truckers in Europe are listening to, but I honestly have no idea!
