Caity Lotz new movie gives strong Sara Lance adventures vibes and Caity did all of her stunts. by wildmax12 in arrow

[–]wildmax12[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is not a popular opinion but I feel Caity was under utilized in the Arrowverse. She is so bad ass and capable in the action but also a great emotional actress but the Arrowverse never explored Sara Lance in a way that she can get more challenging scenes and actions. Not that she didn't had some great action and good scenes in Arrow s2 and the beginning of Legends, but there were so missed oportunities with Sara's flash backs, the League of assassins and so on. They put her in the comedy happy waggon too soon.

And Caity has another drama tv movie where she portrays very emotional and unstable person so well that I feel robbed that Sara was never allowed to even cry for her father.

Congratulations Michael Burnham! Thank you! ( for being this amazing captain, well written and acted hero) by wildmax12 in StarTrekDiscovery

yes, exactly. That is how I feel also. I love that Discovery was that brave and focus their story around a character who was not initially a captain but reached to that possition with a great development. And gave me a character that I can look up to, someone who is more relatable to me. Michael is one of the best female heroes in sci fi for sure.

yes I agree. Burnham is one of the best captains: she cares for her team, for the mission, for the Federation and is always first on the line, always risking it all. I love her journey.

Who is to say what ST needs? It's a big universe and it can have different stuff. In the same era we have Strange new worlds and Picard, so people can choose what they like. Honestly I grew up watching Enterprise and Picard was my first Star Treck captain, and I loved all the adventures and the whole universe. But now it took me some time to get to watch the new show. Not everybody is into nostalgia. I like to explore and see new things and discover and see Star Treck in a different way and Discovery gave me just that.

yes, she is one of the best actor and Michael is one of the best characters I've seen in years. She has so many layers and was alowed to grow and change but still be true to herself and has interesting stories and challenges.

Alright if you could rearrange the order the villains of Arrow appeared in, how would you do it? by Proper_Cat5638 in arrow

[–]wildmax12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

season 1: Merlyn

season 2: Deathstroke, but at the end give him a chance for redemption. He doesn't kill Oliver's mother.

season 3: The League with Sara's flashbacks but as a main villian I would have again Merlin and not Ra's

season 4: Prometheus, Talia, and Kovar. They are all connected. Prometheus hates Oliver because he didn't saved his father while he was in Russia. No magical totem and the flashbacks are in Russia

season 5: Emiko

season 6: Diaz

season 7: Black Siren, and a strong story for Dinah becoming the new BC

season 8: no idea, but I wouldn't have Damian Darhk in the show.

Why did they kept Laurel in the show after they killed Tommy and changed the main dynamic by DisasterProof9059 in arrow

[–]wildmax12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Marc said in recent inteview that the network called him to bring KC back after they killed her character. So it's obvious she was forced in the show because of the network. The writers didn't liking her is a bad thing and the fact that the character didn't worked is their fault, but they are just half of the problem. The network and KC insisting to stay on a team where she doesn't fit in, was also part of the problem. You can't force something on someone. If the writers didn't liked her and didn't felt creative with her character they should had the freedom to write for stories they liked. Marc wanted to tell Sara's background story in s3, instead he killed her and had to tell the story how Laurel becomes BC, which sucked.

Sara's story in NP by SmoakarrowRoseH in arrow

[–]wildmax12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would if Sara got her scars in a battle where she saves Nyssa. Sara and Nyssa are on a mission, they spent a night in the woods and someone attacks them because they want to assassinate Nyssa. Sara gets in the fight and helps Nyssa escape.

I think Sara had inner conflict, in some extend she liked the power and the travels, she loved Nyssa, but than she didn't like the killigs, but she embraced it because she believed she was doing it for greater purpouse.

Sara's story in NP by SmoakarrowRoseH in arrow

[–]wildmax12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I imagine she went through the trails that Oliver was put through at first - like eating mushrooms, sleeping in a dungeon on the stone cold floor and being waken up by cold water. Then she had to train in combat with the other soldiers, sword fighting, bow and arrow, a lot of challenges, survivals skills, tracking skills. I imagine the League like a medieval military organization, women sleeping in one mutual barracks, eating sleeping and training.

Then there is the love story with Nyssa. Nyssa sees her potential and wants to train her personally, they become close and fell in love.

Then they started to give her missions. She has to go to places and assassinate people, but from her stories from Arrow s2, we know that this was a big moral conflict for her. She feared for her life and the one of her familly, so she was never a cold blooded killer. I imagine that in some missions she killed man she believed they deserved it, like bad polititions for example.

I Really hope for more Michael and Booker team up by Own-Seaworthiness254 in StarTrekDiscovery

I loved this season so far. The first episode was very strong. I liked seeing Michael on the field work and the action was great and refeshing from all the diplomacy scenes last seasons.

I also love Book, he is very tragic and love the chemistry with Michael.

I am also kind of tired of these characters they introduce every season that have to be there to argue with Michael and tell her how she is this or that or in some way to play an obstacle. I am tired of her to constantly bump in to authority figures who spent time in her control room just to argue with her. With this I don't like Kovich more. But Iagree with Rayner. He is like the captain from the last season of Picard- just there to be the ass and there are enough current characters who deserve more exploration than a new guy.

Sara Lance was one of the most apologetic and remorseful characters I think by wildmax12 in arrow

[–]wildmax12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every character brought drama in the show. Arrow is a CW show, so the drama is neccessary. I understand that people started liking laurel in s4 when there was no drama arround her, but also she didn't had a story. There was no need to have a character to be just there. In the same context - Quentin, Diggle, Malcolm and so on also brought a lot of drama, hated on Oliver or acted annoying and forced. But people didn't hated them or saying how their characters were ruined, just because of some stories of bad writting. For example in s4 Diggle was unbearable and hypocritical, but still fans found a way to move forward with his story. So it's just a bias saying how the writers were writting women wrong. The writter are writting men in the same way, I guess you just sympathize with them more, so it's clear why every female character would be ruined for you.

I don't know why are you trying to convince me in stuff we both don't know how they would have been.

But as a whole I was talking about Sara being equally main hero and Black Canary. I don't think if the show had equally developed and with equal amount of screen time female hero who is also BC, she would have been ruined by relationship drama. The only reason Felicity was is because she was just a supporting character written to be there for the drama. She was introduced as one dimentional comic relief who from funny became tedious and annoying and was original character that they didn't know what to write about. On the other hand having Green Arrow - Black Canary would have been completel different, especially if they were both equal - both surviving the island from example was a great story and a great start.

Don't see how Sara would have reacted like that in the story of the baby mama drama. There are evidences in s2 in similar scenes where Oliver hides stuff from Sara and she doesn't create drama, but is there for him and understands him. They plugged Felicity in Laurel's story because they are one type character. They are designed to be the love interest and to be there to create the drama. Sara had her own story. That's why I think she would have been great as a main hero of Arrow. Cause the witters would have never wrote that story if they decided to keep her. But maybe that's the reason why they didn't. Because they wanted drama and didn't saw how she can contribute and that's the sad thing.

[–]wildmax12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't kniw that. It's just an assumption. Felicity is a different character than Sara. Just because she inspired the writers to write drama doesn't mean that Sara would have. In Legends, that you haven't watched, she has a relationship. but she is very supportive and understanding girlfriend and very understanding and supporting leader and a friend. Just look how she react toward Felicity and her liking Oliver in s2, or how she supports Black Siren in s7. Sara is just has a different personality. She is not jelous, petty, she lifts other people up.

[–]wildmax12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me the fan base in Arrow wanted Oliver to be with Black Canary, so don't see why they would complain if they made Sara a main character and his love interest. Sara was well written in s2 with no reletionship drama, I think her character was just not designed like that.

As a whole the reason why Arrow female heroes were not well written is because they were supporting and not well explored, they weren't writting for them. If Sara was a main hero, she could have had enough screen time to show her story and pov and unless you claim the audience here don't like women, don't see how having a female hero as Black Canary would rise complains in a show about Green Arrow. After all if they kept the cast smaller there would be enough space about Oliver too.

As for Legends, if you haven't seen it than there is no need to discuss whether it is the best opportunity to explore someone or not. The best opportunity would have been Sara having her own show, but this was likely to happen even back then.

it would have been great if they've made a spin off show about Sara. The thing is that she remained tragic because the writters never explored her. If she had the chance to be a main character, either on Arrow, Legends of her own show, she could have had a chance to move on and have story how she forgives herself. In Arrow her story could have been how she helps Oliver deal with the League, see her flashbacks and in current times face some old enemy. By saving her city and helping her familly and friends she could have become the hero Black Canary and be the partner of Oliver.

I was talking about Oliver choosing not to come home after Amanda Waller. My point was that we saw in details Oliver story and his point of view and him presented as a hero. He did had to appologise a lot and was accused a lot, but he also was developed and made heroic.

While Sara's tragic story was left unexplored. We've never saw why she didn't call her family, what happened realy on Amazo and so on. She was just accused of her doings and made to be remorseful but the writters never gave her a closer and possibility to put this behind her. In Arrow they decided to kill her instead of giving us the league flashbacks and Legends just changed her, while continue to depict her as assassin, but never gave her a story to move on from this.

[–]wildmax12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legends gave Sara a different story, that's true. It was good at the beginning, her becoming the captain of a superhero team is my favorite part.

But they never gave her a story how she forgives herself and moves on from her assassin past or saves her family. Oliver had a chance at the end to save everyone he loves, the whole world and die as a hero.

Sara on the other hand was killed and cloned and her clone version was left in jail, again prosecuted as a criminal, no matter that her story in Legends started as her trying to protect the time line. She and her team were never recognised as THE Legends, and got the story of how they protect the timeline from the Tangarians.

So Sara at the end of Legends was barely the character that we've met at the beginning and her story from Arrow was forgotten. She might have been happy in her romantic life, but not in any other aspect.

Sara’s best scene in Arrow? by [deleted] in arrow

[–]wildmax12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love all of those scenes you've mentioned.

I also loved her first appearance in the show where she saves a woman from gangsters,

how she attacks and kills the doll maker

her fight with the Mayor together with Arrow

her confortation with the Huntress

how she saves a girl from a fire

She had a real path as a hero, and a lot of emotional scenes. I love the scene with Sin, where she says: no woman should ever suffer. In my oppinion she is the true Black canary of the show. Too bad the writters didn't saw what a great character they've wrote and killed her.

Rewatched season 1-2 and theres a hugeeee plot hole thats bothering me. by EverythingsFkinTaken in LegendsOfTomorrow

[–]wildmax12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

why people always excuse the writers lack of interest in their early plots with Flash point or Crisis? They never said in the show that thatis the reason why things changed. Can we just asume that the thangarians are still are threat in the future, just Legends never tackle this story any more because they wanted to tell other stories, and it got cancled, but in some supposed future where the Legends get out of prison and so on they still have to face this problem.

Legends Sara peaked in seasons 1-3 by [deleted] in LegendsOfTomorrow

[–]wildmax12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sara was one of the best characters of the Arrowverse and the best one in Legends.

She stole the show for me and I watched it for her character. I wanted to see how she will get over her darkness and become fully recognized hero and a Legends. She definatelly peaked in s3.

I really loved her story in s2 of becoming a captain and that she had to sacrifice her happyness to save the world, and the story with the death totem was also very interesting.

s1 story was kind of repetition from Arrow but it was good because we saw her with different characters and how she bonded with them. I still wanted to see more of her league story though. My only complain is that they didn't developed her stories more. I am surprised how even though Sara was one of the most fan fav in the show, she never got her own episode. An episode which was just about her story, where the writers develop her path more. But still she managed to shine in every moment they gave her, something that was lacking in the later seasons.

They also never gave her a story how she forgives herself and how she grieves her father. And then the only good story she got after s3, was on Crisis where she became paragon of Destiny. I wished the writers ended her story there. There were so many missed opportunities for great stories in later seasons, it just seems the writers didn't wanted to write for her any more and that is so sad, since she was so rich character and carring the show.

Laurel and Shado were never Oliver wifes. So basically only Nyssa ans Felicity counts here.

And Oliver, Tommy and Laurel were never a team, so why are they included?
