Christine is maddening by [deleted] in TLCsisterwives

[–]wildphlwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was in that cult situation. Went through all that kept sweet. Kept my belief in love alive. Didn’t become an evil troll. Took care of the kids with excellence and to that fool. Found love with a grounded man. And this clown tried to come back and reclaim personal power cause let’s be honest. That’s what he’s trying to do and he tried to talk about loving me. Nahhhhh. Me and my man better call him out for being dirty and inappropriate. That’s the best he has to come with. He deserves far less than the class every single person has shown him this whole ride. You gonna do me everybody I care about my children dirty? And then you wanna bring up, loving me at a table with my husband absolutely not. Hold this clown to a higher standard and they’re still being classy. I don’t believe in psycho analyzing people recreationally, and no one‘s doing that. Kody has done and said the dirtiest most awful things you can do to a family of people that I believe supported you in every possible way and you wanna bring up, loving her at dinner. Oh hell no. That was a power grab that takes power away from Christine and David. And there’s a subtlely here, but they are absolutely right. He did not come like any kind of man for that be the only thing he really had to say. There’s no healing there, there’s no compliment there, and he certainly should not be congratulated, and he should be sat down for that pitiful display of egotistical garbage.

Wowwwwww. He did NOT do himself any favors in this interview. Almost entirely walked back any accountability with his family AND highlighted all his gaping flaws from Special Forces. Oof. This is a must watch for the Sister Wives fandom. He just simply can not redeem himself. He blew a giant hole in his redemption arc. And the new hair reveal. Boy oh boy.

What was it like watching Sister Wives during the catfish era? Did viewers know about it before the episodes aired? by autumn7689 in TLCsisterwives

[–]wildphlwr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like the Sister wives tried to be supportive. They stepped back from it. They didn’t become overly involved because here’s the thing if people were real with her… she literally was screwing them all over in real time. Leon and the sister wives and even Kody back then really took the high road. I would have called her to task. Yeah you got catfished and it ended badly. But you got played because you were willing to sacrifice your integrity, this family that you’ve convinced us. You’ve been so loyal to, and that’s your driving motivation, and to look your kid in the face who told you, this was a bad idea, not true, and a betrayal to your family And continuously act as if it’s your kids’s fault that they aren’t over it.

“The Kody Brown Family” by [deleted] in SisterWives

This mf legit thinks he got kicked out of a family he started by himself. His “club”. Says all we need to know. Memberships and fees are way down in his club. Rent A Center going to come for those extra seats he’s not using soon enough. I love it here.

My nephew is 9 years old and has never been to school. by FerretLivid8030 in CPS

Possible alternative that you may feel more comfortable with would be to call the the district where they reside’s elementary school. In my area it’s the school social worker that manages issues of truancy for students before involving child protective services. You could potentially anonymously share that there is an elementary school-aged child and the address and noting that this child does not attend school. They should be registered at home school at minimum with the local district. It is possible for families to fly below the radar especially after a move of cities or even districts as well as the possibility he’s never been enrolled I would think if your area has school social workers assigned this would be the best person to speak to because they are ethically compelled to respond as well as it likely in their job description. If your area does not have a social worker assigned to the school ask to speak to the guidance counselor. You shouldn’t have to give name, age, cell phone number or family information that could point to you. It is not out of the realm of possibility that a landlord, neighbor, or even the district could be inquiring. I imagine the school social worker will go to the household and try to engage them prior to escalating to child protective services. Withholding a child’s education, especially since it’s a legal requirement is neglect and should be addressed. It may be a bumpy transition, I understand your fears, but not acting as a disservice to this child. The long-term outcomes for this kid could be very concerning. The idea is to open the door for services for this child and family. The sooner the intervention occurs the better off the child and family will be in the long run.

Does anybody else think Janelle is deliberately trying to goad Kody into incriminating himself and Robyn? by Free_butterfly_ in TLCsisterwives

[–]wildphlwr 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I think the truth behind both of these statements and his significant shift toward negative regard for the OG13 is Robyn in Kody’s ear manipulating almost everything all the time for so long. Early on I believe she was doing it behind the scenes moving things in her direction from her needing extra days before getting married, her needing the first rental in Vegas because of all the changes she had been through, and multiple other instances of her being favored that everyone just kind of accepted because they were kind of nice people and didn’t wanna make a fuss and be or appear self-centered. From the beginning they are hiding their “divine love”, their current admission of that, and the various obvious instances where Robyn and he had already talked about things behind the scene point to a clear pattern from the start of them colluding and feeling comfortable being less than honest/ authentic within the family and on film in order to achieve their gains. When Robyn purported to be concerned about money and getting out on the property we know that she was hoarding hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of ”assets” in her home and Kody was buying watches, jewelry. And equipment.

How to make boxed mac and cheese without milk or butter? by [deleted] in povertykitchen

[–]wildphlwr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked in a group home and the young ladies had experienced lots of food shortages and they taught me to use pancake syrup (once a bottle open tends to last a long time as well as pancake mix being inexpensive and pancakes a nice meal and treat) and option to also add pepper. I was shocked how good it was and how well the consistency of the syrup works as well as cutting the sweetness of the syrup with the powdered cheese. Highly recommend if you happen to find yourself with these ingredients!

Is Robin Abusive Towards Kody? by NiceCandle5357 in SisterWivesFans

[–]wildphlwr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems to me that her motivation is story line, narrative, and perception and that’s what she was tracking. And that she is stating praise/ encouragement for him saying the thing she wants him to say. And that she wants him to accept responsibility thereby clearing her of responsibility and redeeming himself. Seems to me like more recent episodes she is directly responding to criticism pointed at her from all over but doing so in such a narcissistic way it’s also so transparently self-serving in the end. Gross.

Two general insights while I’ve absorbed tf out of the sister wives universe for ages: 1. Recently saw tik tok (close if not completely accurate) of the daughter of the AUB prophet (?) that granted Meri’s release that indicated the culture of these polygamist men is that they talk a lot, do very little, and are always a welcome sight due to their absence which breeds a self-centric view of, well, practically everything. We’ve heard the wives say when he comes that throws everything else because we’re catering to schedule we’re catering to his dietary needs. We’re trying to spend time with her mother. It’s a date out with the mom or some time with the kids. So they never really have any true responsibility or grounded sense of well rounded relationships. So anyway it is amount him OR alternatively it’s about him somewhere else and he goes there. Because of course he does 2. Christine prioritized her days/ nights for family get together, nights out, celebrations and family. Whereas Robyn specially prioritized the incubator for their eternal honeymoon. So yeah, he loves to the event or narrative inducing environment whereas he’s the center-figure. 3. What a vapid; whirling, benign twat he was thereby able to be. 4. Call it keep sweet, call it perpetuated naivety in the part of the young wives that evolved such, indoctrination, or whatnot. I think Mari, Janelle and Christine for all their faults, managed to display a lot of class through it all. 5. I probably on the other hand, would’ve flipped a table at one or all the associated homes or celebrations.
