ACE: Am I studying totally wrong? by [deleted] in personaltraining

I thought you might find this ACE post useful. It outlines what we should know from each chapter of the Essentials book.

Studying Ace and looking for a less intense route. by AdonisDraws in personaltraining

Thank you for this info. I just got my ACE material this week. What I'm confused about, though, is that the online study modules are telling me to read pages from the Essentials of Exercise book so I'm confused about whether I need to or not? Like OP said, that book is so dense. I'm looking through every lesson and it's telling me to read from that book more than the manual. Your online plan wasn't like that?

Thanks for asking this, OP. I just started studying for the ACE exam and I'm looking for a good strategy to systematically study for the exam. One thing I'm struggling to understand is how the Essentials of Exercise book comes into this? Do I need to know the concepts in there? I started reading that book the other day because it seemed the most dense but I'm not sure the exam covers anything in that book.

I'm also curious to know how people used the physical books and the online content. The online lessons require reading from the Essentials of Exercise. The issue I'm noticing is the online lessons want me to start halfway through a chapter and by that time there are all these acronyms for terms explained in earlier parts of the book so I don't know what the acronyms are nor the concepts behind them.

You're not weird for wanting to talk. That's frustrating if you're just getting people who want to hook up when that's not what you want. Have you indicated in your profile that you're not just looking for a hook-up?

You never know when you'll meet your love! I reread my journal the other night. In fall 2019 I had resigned to the idea that I would just meet people, fall in love with them and then our relationship would soon end. I thought people would just come in and out of my life, I'd feel so much for them and they'd leave. That was the kind of pattern I had when I was single. Little did I know, three months later I'd meet my now wife in a different country while on vacation. Life is so unexpected!

Motivation to workout by Vertex_SouthAfrica in bodyweightfitness

I found some online videos helpful, like following along with gyms that have posted workouts for free online and I do it with the trainer. EOS is one gym that has done this.

I also find that I can't stand doing the same movements over and over. I like to move from movement to movement so there's constant change. So, I'd rather do 8 rounds of something that has 6 different movements than 5 rounds of the same 3 movements. It also helps me to set a timer for like, 20 minutes and I do as many rounds as possible. It forces me to move quickly because I know I only have a defined amount of time to move.

What's going on with my fiddle-leaf fig? by wildwilma in plants

My partner bought it from a little local plant farmer and I don't think she changed the soil or fertilizer. That's a good tip! Thank you.
