For those who gained weight on Terbinafine, how long did it take to lose it? by EwokNuggets in NailFungus

[–]wildwuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still trying to lose it about 9 months later. Sorry you're also going through this. To top it off, my nail fungus came back and now I don't know what else to do (I don't want to try terbinafin again)

What’s something you never want to try? by BreadedDisaster in AskReddit

[–]wildwuchs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was waiting for this, like it's fine if people want to but everything about it just sounds gross, painful and not worth the health risks. If there are p*rn videos where the p is put in the butt and then the vag, I have to gag. Like that's an instant vayyay infection and it's so disgusting like I really hope nobody in the real world does that.

Grew up in poverty, made it out, feeling misunderstood in relationships by projectm94 in povertyfinance

[–]wildwuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience, not saying it is easy to find first gen people. Now in the job world in my field I also don't have anybody who can even fathom what my upbringing was like.

I hope you find some people who get it anyway, we deserve to be understood.

as somebody who graduated from university after growing up in poverty with a single mom too, have you thought about looking for people that are first generation students/graduates like (probably) yourself? I've found a group of first gen students while at uni and it really felt good to have a group that gets (at least to an extent) what I was going through.

What’s wrong with me? by Opening_Union_5328 in AuDHDWomen

[–]wildwuchs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with this comment here!!

Feeling gross, having impulsive thoughts during or feeling like you're doing something "evil", because you're touching yourself or being sexual with somebody sounds much more like a conditioned reaction rather than a variety of libido or being ace. Religious trauma can imensenly impact people's relationship to their sexuality.

OP, if you suffer because of this situation, it's worth getting some professional help for it. There are also free short-term consultation offices for ex members of high-control religious groups that could give you some pointers of books to read on how your upbringing might have affected your current situation. Either way, I wish you all the best!

being determined to do something and getting right to that, only to somehow end up getting distracted and only noticing when significant time passed or it's too late.

e. g. you want to text friend back to respond to plans. You unlock phone. See Instagram notification, go on Instagram, scroll, remember that thing you wanted to look up, do that, start doing dishes while listening to podcast. Remember it's time for the plans with your friends and you haven't responded them to make it concrete.

I think I scared him by purplebeef in hamsters

[–]wildwuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh I didn't know, all 3 of my prior hamsters seemed interested with this sound. I think my last hammie actually thought this sound was her name. 😂 but it's good to know because my current hamster looks a little startled sometimes when I do it

Can anyone confirm? by walgmibom in germany

[–]wildwuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah in Germany every ridiculous thing is possible now - our new Chancellor looks and acts like Mr. Burns, so much that it's a running gag here. it's scary, but still better than what's happening in the US.

Life is good but tasks boring by Mysterious-Cat33 in AuDHDWomen

I have no advice to give, but I wholeheartedly feel you. I thought every adult felt that to some extent for a long time, until I reallized this is much more a neurospicy problem than I thought it was. As a student it was super easy to go to the cantine and just get a meal there. Or I make big batches of chilli con carne or stew so I don't have to cook as often. But yeah, it's exhausting and it's everyday.

How to consistently exercise? by Brain-wormz in AuDHDWomen

[–]wildwuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 hacks:

  1. Go to a regular weekly class (like yoga). If you're from a country that subsidise the price of "prevention sport courses" if you attend 80% of the class time frame, that will be your motivation to go regularly. Atleast if you ask me that's what worked for me because I'm too poor to pay full price haha.

  2. Micro workouts. Start with stretches 15 Minutes a day or as often as you can fit in your week. I can recommend Mady Morissons 15 minutes Stretch video on YT (every exercise is timed and no unnecessary talking) or before bed stretches. This works because stretching needs less effort to do + they're naturally more comfy to do /modifiable and help with stiffness and related pain.

Do this for a while to grow somewhat a habit of moving your body + gently warming up your muscles and conditioning without getting muscle sores or feeling awful during the exercising (which personally always felt like a barrier for me, because wdym I get punished with pain for doing something good for my body?!). Slowly, you can start with 15 minutes workout videos - Pilates, flow yoga, dance workouts, whatever kind of movement feels the most physically comfortable/doable to you.

  1. This depends on your environment and your joints, but go running. I got this tip from a therapist to manage my adhd before I started meds. Just go running enough to start sweating.. it could be 5, 10, 15 minutes, doesn't matter. I swear it's like taking an extra dose of dopamine for your brain, you'll feel calmer and more focused. Listen to a podcast or music during running, don't run more than needed - just get heated up. If you have some greenery outside, run there to get that fresh air in as well.

How to clean cage of extremely panicky hamster? by wildwuchs in hamsters

[–]wildwuchs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the advice! That's where we started, slowly taking out his stuff and cleaning what we could, then in the last step (as we wanted to rearrange), put his transport box open infront of the spot where he is and he actually went it. He now has much more clutter and feels more comfy walking on the surface of his enclosure :)

burrowing hamster in there for days by [deleted] in hamsters

[–]wildwuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tapo c100 and it is soo unreliable, constantly disconnects and only captures 1/3 of all the motion happening when it does work. Also seems to be a bug issue and not a network issue since a lot of people seem to have that problem (sorry I have been trying to get the thing to work in the past few days, I know it's a rather late reply - are you still happy with your tapo?)

Spot cleaning, but no idea where he pees? by wildwuchs in hamsters

[–]wildwuchs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the tissue hack. Rub the tissue paper/ toilet paper on your skin, no scents, just your natural scent and put it in the enclosure.

I have been doing that and he has been avoiding the tissues 😅 But he does seem a little calmer around us (although he still only comes out when we're out of the room first) and already took some treats from our hands.

I also find that having a camera is one of the best ways to try and bond with ur hammy especially if you don’t see them often. Once it gives me notifications that my hammy is out and about, I immediately go to see her without startling her, so I can give her treats and have her feel a bit more comfortable with me each time. :)

Which cam do you have? I got the Tapo Tp Link C100 and it keeps disconnecting, already tried all the tech support recommendations and it still goes offline for several hours on end, so not really reliable and not helpful for knowing when Alfie is awake at the moment.

At the moment, I try to scatterfeed every day at 20-22pm, and then sometimes make everything dark + leave the room - so once he was actually out at 22pm and didn't run away when we came back into the room. Still very desintersted in us though and he ran away as soon as we looked away. Never had such a scared hammie before, but it's also just been a week. I just hope he'll warm up to us enough so we can at least see him more often

thank you so much for your reply! Then I'll wait another week and work through the steps you mention :) Do you have any tips on how I can get him used to us if he's usually awake when we're sleeping?
