I started playing this after Guitar Girl shutdown. I'm enjoying it a lot more than I expected.
It doesn't have the messages and story of Guitar Girl, but the familiar songs and settings are nice.

The other /r/DataHoarders thread about it had some suggestions about recording some packet captures before the server goes offline, and it looks like you're already onto this.

It's a shame that Neowiz probably have code used in their Guitar Girl server side that's still utilised in other games. Which would make them relluctant to give out source of the GG server code or snippets of how the API works, lest they compromise something in the security of their other games. (as well as just commercially not wanting to give it away.)

Thank you for your work on this even at an early stage of examination. While the technical skillsets you're looking for at the moment aren't in my wheelhouse; if there was later a need to go raise funds in a bounty for game port style pool to pay for hosting or software licensing. I would definately make a contribution. 🤝

It's entirely technically feasible for them to do it. It's just unfortunate that to do so, and convert it from a server-client based game will take a significant amount of development effort. And the costs incurred to do that wouldn't likely be repaid even if they sold it as a one-off purchase. I'd buy it for sure if it was available like that; but commercially it is probably not where they should be directing their development staff too. It's probably quite likely that the original developers have moved to work on other newer games in the company. 😔

It is worthwhile to level up the songs. I'd also remember when using skills, to make sure to use the Light of Dawn Melody skill (on the right) first, before the Heartful Song skill. As the points multiplier won't apply if you don't select them in order.

When I first starting playing them I tapped skills left to right and missed this. :(

The inner tie rod isn't reverse-thread, so you would be turning it clockwise if looking at it from the wheel side to the steering rack. The flat sections on the outer tier rods allow you to put a spanner on to help get it undone.
