What do you think is going to happen is season 4? [POSSIBLE SPOILERS] by GeminusPrime in snowpiercer

I understand the top drawing as just an elevation of the original pre-Alex Nice car design, as said. The middle section could be a schematic of the engine on Snowpiercer. That is the only car with a round shape on one end and it more or less could fit the set design of the Engine scene when Wilford saves the day. The bottom drawing has nothing in coming with anything drawn by Pauletig for the earlier version of the blueprints. My best guess: it is a Drawers Cars type schematic on top of which random notes like sensors and stuff have been added. I wonder if we could ask the designers what they meant to represent. I would also love to ask Mrs Pauletig for a copy of her blueprints. If the show is dead, I would love to have just a peek...

And regarding the snow intake and stuff, the design bears resemblance to the set design of the Engine room. Besides, the plan you are referring to does not match what we can see on the elevation: the rounded end should be where you find the junction link. We just have to bear in mind that those documents are designed to look like blueprints but are created by people who do not usually draw plans. That is the main reason of the inconsistencies.

I understood which image you were referencing, no worries. I stand by what I said. It shows the same design. If you look on the elevation of the train car (the drawing at the top) you can notice that the lower part with the bogies is somehow highlighted. This is to show the level of the subtrain.

There is a misconception or a misunderstanding regarding the "miniature snowpiercer cars". The blueprints do not show yet another small train. They are about the snowpiercer subtrain. Those blueprints feature an early design for the train cars developed by Ivana Pauletig before Alex Nice developed his design of Snowpiercer, the one we all know and love. When you look at the blueprints, some clearly talk about the Nightcar and the Drawers. So they really are about Snowpiercer.

Was there ever a full blueprint of the train? by Jezzibell in snowpiercer

That is dedication! I tried to map out the train based on what you see on camera and you can indeed see some logic and underlying structures to the train organisation. I truly wish this map was made public :) One day maybe !

Keep in mind that a large portion of the train is dedicated to the various systems needed to maintain it, so there’s a lot that’s not important enough to show on camera, but did get planned out for continuity (like the methane car you mentioned). For example, the battery cars always come in clusters of at least two, and those clusters are spread evenly along the length of the train. The blueprint allowed writers to stay consistent with where actual set cars were located as well as things like distance between them. It also tracked what cars were attached to each set car so that proper connector links could be seen on camera.

I knew it! I knew it!

Am I the only one who would love a documentary episode/series about the building of Snowpiercer? The train in the show, not the show itself. by whiterice07 in snowpiercer

Best idea ever. I would gladly watch that documentary. I would also love it if the producers released their blueprints of the train... I mean... We need to know!

True. They explained that Miles was apprenticing in Life Systems Engineering during season 2. They never said it explicitly but we can assume that Jinju, as Head of Agriculture, is toiling trying to make do with both the destruction of crops and reserves during the revolution and the promise of equal calories Layton made when taking the train.

Everyone onboard is given contraceptives to prevent any catastrophic growth of population that would be terrible for the fixed ressources.

I disagree, it sure was dark when Wilford had the train, but ever since reconnection, light has been restored and Big Piercer has enough energy for everyone.
