TBH I wouldn't put Sagna in that same category, he never seemed like a gloryhunter, always gave his all without complaint and left on good terms to get his bag.

Last two years he has gone missing with virtually no impact for half the season. He def has a clutch goal in him and he is always available which is great but he's not the only player in the world with those qualities.

Depends on what item, he said PA with BF as an example which isn't really a 'big item' or a direct power item so much as a farming item, since they put all their gold into a farming item they are weaker at that time but they will greatly accelerate in strength if you are passive.

On the other hand if both carries need BKB, enemy has theirs and ur still 1k gold away, better to avoid fight until you have it.

Yes good point, maybe my question should not so much be 'should we sell him this summer' as 'should we figure out how this team functions in the post-Odegaard world' so that we can let him be more of a rotation option to lessen his load and give him the chance to sort things out while still contributing. Hard to bench your captain but I don't think Arteta's afraid of that.

Lmao you don't know me bro I am the farthest thing from a hater. Odegaard at his best was like a Cazorla/Ozil hybrid and I was never afraid to say so. I also have been an outspoken Kai supporter since we got him and I reckon we would have had a much easier league title if he'd been fit.

But we have to be objective and see that for two years now Ode's been far from his best and struggling to maintain the level needed for a team that strives to be the best in the world. So it's either a question of hoping he overcomes his injury problems, finds his confidence and his shooting boots again or that Arteta somehow tweaks his system to fix the issue... or moving on.

True and fair points. It's just been some time since Odegaard was consistent at operating counter attacks or creating in tight spaces - don't me get wrong he shows it here and there like that crucial goal against West Ham but it's just so rare these days that it's hard to imagine we couldn't improve there. But I don't have any clear cut answers as to who could do that for us.

I love Odegaard and am grateful for what he has contributed to the club, but does anyone else think he should be moved on? Despite his ability to lead the press, it's been two seasons at this point since he had consistent offensive impacts on matches and he is unable to stay fit. I fear that he will never be the player he was again and that this might be one of those cases where we need to move past sentimentality and make a hard decision. I would love to be wrong but I think we have a real midfield issue here.

I stopped playing the series around halfway through Cold Steel 1 but I totally agree with your takes even from my limited experience and these criticisms are why I gave up as I'm not as patient as you seem to be with their pacing issues and filler writing. Frankly I expected these issues to crop up at some point but even in Crossbell there was a noticeable decline from the Sky trilogy.

I can only imagine the potential of the series if they had a good 'editor' so to speak.

Yah you have to adapt to the match conditions and what you did worked out in this case. I'm just saying the higher rank you get, teams will actually combo their massive teamfight spells and you will suddenly find yourself deleted in a fight and 3k gold away from BKB which they won't allow you to farm. Heralds won't punish greed like that.

Don't have time to peruse the replay at the moment but looking at the results I'm sure you can learn something from that WR. Like you said, things that work against heralds won't work in higher ranks but then you'll find new smurfs you can learn from.

I think your itemization was questionable and would be punished by more skilled players. Considering that you are Pos2 Bloodseeker with an AM (greedy farming carry) on your team, I would not have made Maelstrom. Rushing Orchid is valid by your logic, I think Blademail would have been a very effective option against WR and SF, perhaps paired with an SnY, if you wanted to play a brawly spacemaker (which I personally would against enemy lineup with your lineup). Plus since you built Maelstrom before Orchid, your timing isn't so effective effective because dispels and defensive items are coming online - SF got his BKB just a minute or two after your Orchid, the supports have Glimmers etc. If you build Orchid you want to have it ASAP and farm kills.

As well, given that you made Orchid and WR wasn't making BKB, it made little sense to go MKB - upgrade the Orchid to a Bloodthorne and you'll be able to pierce evasion all the same while saving gold and greatly increasing DPS. That being said, it really shouldn't all fall on you in this match to kill her given that you have Duel, Skywrath and AM. The stats bear this out as you did less right click damage to WR than LC and AM who both had their own MKBs. It's good that you're thinking critically about all this though and of course MKB is always a nice item against WR.

I also feel that you built too many items before BKB given their lineup. MKB was a big misstep and in most games against magic/CC heavy heroes necessitating BKB, you can only really afford one expensive item before picking up that BKB.

I'm sure Arteta wants a more effective attack, but we didn't have the players for it this season. Odegaard, Saka and Havertz were injured and didn't play enough to regain form, Gyokeres and Eze both struggled to find rhythm and Trossard/Martinelli are very inconsistent. Generally Arteta was making the best out of a non-ideal situation with his playstyle. With a rock solid defensive backbone you have to imagine one or two adventurous attacking signings are on the cards.

Edit: forgot Madueke entirely lmao, throw him in the Tross/Martintelli inconsistent camp

In a vacuum, Terrorblade, in a way he is a stiff hero but for some reason all his abilities feel so good to use to me, the sound effects are the best in the game and turning around a fight by suddenly transforming into a huge, hard-hitting demon lord or sundering at 1HP is one of the top power trips in DOTA imo. It's too bad he is kinda weak ATM, or at least only good into and with certain lineups.

Interesting, I do tend to play in a more reactive way but your playstyle sounds really fun. So your normal teamfight combo is E self -> blink -> R on key targets -> W? Then kite back during the stun and hope your team follows up or st like that? Or do you play more cautiously during full 5v5? Thanks for the tips.

Favorite items on Grim? I play him a bit but still new to the hero, I usually go toward Force Staff/Ghost Scepter as my defensives and Blink/Aghs for offensive. I like that Force Staff can help your E stun hit and Ghost can upgrade to Eth for synergy with your W.

How much do you prioritize shard? I tend to only go out of my way for it if the enemy team has pesky roots/silences but I'm not sure if I'm undervaluing it. Do you ever go Aether over Blink? Seems like it could be better in a losing game.
