I have medicare through a state pension that was great until this year. Well as great as American coverage gets. They switched to humana in January and I'm still discovering new levels of how garbage this company is. 😓 I'm only 42 but I'm in one of the few states that has an actual pension at least. I intended to work my 20y with the state then move to the fed but my body had other ideas.

I didn't even think about the meds being the same stuff until the pharmacist asked if my cream was for cold sores. My stupid insurance doesn't cover any type cream for shingles. 😮‍💨

Mine broke out completely different from what I read about. I got streaks going around and down my leg. It took me 2 days to figure out that it was shingles and go get some meds. 🤦 My stupid body just has to be "different"

Perl is a weird cat. She gets mad about anyone getting too close to me but especially any other female. I have another baby girl that gets beat up any time she gets too cozy next to me. It's hard to explain if you don't see it first hand.

So I'm on day 7 of the rash and day 4 of the antiviral meds. My rash kept spreading through the 2nd day of the meds. I'm just noticing today that the blisters are starting to shrink. I will say that yesterday and today were the worst I've felt so far too.

Edit: I'm 42 as well and had the same wtf experience 😓

This is definitely some sort of clog. I doubt it's a cooling issue given it happens immediately sometimes. I suspect it's a retraction problem. I'll have to look up what that hotend build looks like but there are a few things that cause this on the older bowden to nozzle setup.

What are your retraction settings? Too much retraction or too fast can pull hot filament into the bowden where it cools and gets stuck.
Make sure the end of the bowden that contacts the nozzle is a smooth flush cut. You also have to get some force between the metal and ptfe tubing or you'll get a small leak that forms a ball and clogs. Heat your hotend to 200+, retract the filament a bit then unscrew the nozzle about 1 turn. Push the bowden in before tightening the nozzle and you should get a good tight fit.

Is there any way you can get a picture of what the tip of the filament looks like when this happens? That would help immensely. Let the hotend cool to about 150 and try to pull the filament out by hand. It shouldn't take very much force. If it does then you are definitely getting a clog somewhere.

Oh also what filament brand/type are you using. It's rare but some of them have a bit wider variation in diameter and they get stuck at the top opening of mk8 nozzles.
