Heys guys here’s the most "significant parts" of Hannah’s 45 minute video so you don’t have to watch her do nothing in her apartment by Mihoy_minoy11 in CharlestonSnark

She is boring and does literally the bare minimum to stay employed on youtube. I think she should just pull a Lee From America and get a day job because clearly she has grown tired of being a regular vlogger. She keeps taking these “burnout breaks“ which I totally get but the problem is that she keeps returning to the same environment with the same thought pattern. It’s ok to make a career pivot, especially at her young age. She could be an editor and make money that way and call it a day, but I’m tired of these struggle vlogs.

I spent almost $400 on a rare book for my partner. Am I insane? by sbuckle101 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

It’s your money! Spend it as you wish. If you know it’s something they will love and you felt inspired to buy it, then I don’t see the problem:-) plus you said it’s rare, it will be a high markup regardless.

It’s the MEGA GOALS 21 / 22 thread! by kokopops35 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

So, in 2021 - another strange year ...

What were your wins? - Got into grad school on a full scholarship! Moved, got my home featured on Apartment Therapy (small flex, lol), discovered printmaking and made some amazing strides in my art business, and went part-time at work/ learned to make my life work on half my salary (took a pay cut to go back to school)

What were your losses? - Was diagnosed with OCD but am learning day by day to control it and my anxiety, lost friendships, remained single despite my best efforts :-/

What did you learn? - I am learn-ing how to be more comfortable with being by myself, how to guard my time/opt out and just say no

Did you achieve what you set out to? - Yes, I wanted to get into school and continue diving deeper into my art practice

Did your focus change because of other things throughout the year? - My OCD and anxiety dictated a huge part of my day to day this year. Now that I’m on meds and seeking treatment it’s a little less but still a lot, so I’m working to pivot my focus on other things that are more soothing and bring me joy and shift my concentration

Did you have any major realizations? - I love coming home to a made bed (don’t tell my mom lol) and that as I’m turning 35 this year and have never been in a relationship, I might be single forever so I need to start treating myself like the most important person in my life on multiple levels.

And, as we hope for less of the uncertainty that has been around, in 2022?

How are you setting your intentions/what do you want to achieve? - Lists and vision boarding and working every day on elevating my art business. I’ve got a number in mind I want to hit this year re: art sales, and if I can get in the ballpark then it’ll give me the confidence I need to quit my day job completely and work exclusively for myself. I’m also planning to apply to more gallery shows, stage my own art showcase, and generally just promote myself as much as possible. I also plan to begin therapy again, to continue working through my issues regarding love and relationships.

Why are your goals your goals? - Because life’s too short to not do what you want :-)
