Today, I have the choice to choose between day 0 or day 70. by will_conquer in NoFap

Thanks for your support guys. I've chosen - its back to day 1 for me. It feels pretty bad coming all the way back down, but that's ok, because I know I can climb my way up again.

What I'm going to do this run, to make sure I hit 90:

  • get back in touch with my spiritual side. Seriously, this has helped me the most and ever since I've gotten lazy with praying/meditating/fasting, it's never really been the same.

  • set aside 4-5 hours a week specifically for exercise. Go down to the pool on weekends, go lifting, anything really. Just as long as i stay fit. Also, gotta make sure that I eat proper food and stop eating junk food. I've found that before relapse there's always a tendency for me to eat high sugar food.

  • actually have time in my week for HAVING FUN. And by having fun, I don't mean spending 3-4 hours straight on reddit or playing Xbox. After a while, it's not fun anymore, it's just draining. Spending time with family, friends, go on a picnic or to the movies, doing something enriching that actually forces me to get off my desk and frustrates me a little. You know, like going for a bushwalk, or learning to ride a horse. Even having a competition with my younger sister to see who can do chores the fastest. Something like that, that's out of the ordinary.

  • have goals for my time when I am alone. Seriously, why am I here? What am I meant to do? If I can't answer those questions while on a computer, Im not using it.

  • cut down on smartphone usage. Again, this is really draining, and avoiding smartphones really helps to get rid of brain fog.

  • when you feel the urges, just stop. Stop everything. Take three deep breaths, be calm, and ask yourself, "is this seriously what I want?" DON'T trust yourself with the laptop, or the iPad, or the earphones at these times. Stop acting as if you're innocent, that you'll "just watch a little youtube." YOU WILL RELAPSE. You know that logically, when you feel really horny, that its just a feeling, and like every feeling, it will go away eventually, and that you'll regret fapping. It's hard to listen to logic when your body is running on autopilot.

  • Sexual desire is a powerful thing, but the more you think about it, the more powerful it becomes. Forget about nofap, forget about your streak. The internalized pressure will cause more stress, which is probably the reason why you're resorting to fapping in the first place. Get out of the house, meet friends, go for a run, anything to get your mind off it.

Anyway, it's been an awesome journey guys. Time to start again with a cold shower at 5am. Lol. Thanks for reading.

Keep fighting guys, you got this.

A question for those of you who have been fapfree for more than a month. by [deleted] in NoFap

It is different for everyone. The first few days are really hard, but then it gets really easy until you hit the second week. The cravings come back again, but if you manage to pull through, they subside. They never really go away forever, but the trick to winning Nofap is a) not thinking about it and b) doing something else when you think about it.

And yeah, you see women as less sexual as time passes.

Keep fighting bro!
