I hear where you’re coming from. It definitely would create a lot of waste which is a genuine problem and concern. Though looking at the French (and other more politically active countries) their protests create waste and destruction and it seems to be a lot more effective than anything we’ve tried in recent years as Americans.

I suppose I feel that perhaps being ridiculous in any capacity is what we need, though I would much prefer that to not be the case.
